I only cook cakes from recipes, the rest of our meals I can make without instructions I don't stick to set meals on set days, we have a very varied diet. x Tig

I can believe it. Most working people just stick to the tried and tested meals, often in front of the tv and don't pay much attention to what they're eating - I know I did when I worked 12 hr days and then had to come home and cook I'm better now...but not much ;D I don't like cooking - only baking. We don't have "ready meals" or takeaways much now - we used to when I worked.......but having Pizza and mushrooms is still my favourite meal - - 10 minutes from start to finish!! ;D ;D

I quite enjoy cooking (not nearly as much as I enjoy eating though ;D) Our nosh is based on plain cooking for the most part - I will make any left-overs into something edible. We always have a roast on a Sunday, but it can vary from beef, pork, ham, turkey, lamb or chicken. 'Remains' will become cottage or shepherds pie, pasty, chicken & mushroom pie, ham & egg, or as a last resort stir fry or curry. I skin & bone fish myself, and then deep fry in batter with chips. Egg & chips is a favourite. King prawns or scallops are another alternative, with rice and stir fried veg. I make cheese, onion and potato puff pastry rolls (done them today), my kids families love them so it is a matter of making enough to feed a small army Pork chops, lamb cutlets, meat & potato pie, stew and dumplings, eggs benedict with mash, liver and onions, braised kidneys, cod roe, and everything with veg, spuds, rice or pasta .. We don't get fed up of eating, but I am virtually very lean

Eggs Benedict is .. www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/eggsbenedict_9435.shtmlI am not a breakfast person, so tend to just have toast at 11ish, then nothing until our main meal Auricula. I haven't got a sweet tooth, so not really one for cakes and pastries, also I do a lot of digging and mowing when the weather permits ;D I am x Tig

I have a few recipes (in my head) that I use during term time - they tend to be quick, easy things like spaghetti and meatballs or shepherds pie. We rarely have takeaways as nothing is very close so there is no home delivery and it seems a bit of an effort to go and collect something, bring it home and then heat it up again. We do have an Indian meal sometimes from the supermarket. I tend to do more cooking and baking in the school holidays.
