Do you put your tree and decorations up, I have a real tree so I tend to leave it 'till the weekend before Christmas day.

We will do it this weekend, as we have friends coming over next Monday. We used to leave it until after the 14th, as that is our eldest son's birthday. When he moved out, we put things up a bit earlier - he came round ....and was appalled!!! He went on about it, even when we pointed out that he no longer lived with us!!! We still let him think nothing happens until after his "big day" and he is 35, married, with 4 kids!! Once a baby....etc... ;D ;D

If it was down to me, we would ignore Christmas, the same as I ignore my birthday. However, we have young children so I can't We've agreed that the tree will go up around 12/13 Dec, unlike some friends of ours who've had the tree up for nearly 2 weeks already FA x

I'm like FA but have no children so I should be able to ignore it but, well, relatives keep turning up for Christmas dinner every year and they expect the trimmings. Bah, HUMBUG. The decs will go up when OH gets them out of the loft and I can no longer avoid it. Then they can stay up as long as they like until he gets fed up and takes them down ;D

Me too Auricula. I don't like them still being up if we go back to school before the 6th and I really like how tidy and uncluttered everywhere looks once they are all put away for another year.

My tree went up on the 4th......I always have a real one too.
I don't really have lots of decorations just a few bits and bobs placed around on the mantlepiece and table.
