....New Year's resolutions anyone ? I've got about 400 this year, most of which are something to do with "do more exercise" "eat less junk" & "be less lazy" I weighed myself today and I'm the same weight I was at this time last year. Having lost a bit of weight in the early part of the year, it's disappointing to have put it back on again so I'm mainly looking at some resolutions to try and shift a bit of weight and to be more healthy. I've started a list of resolutions and I'm up to 28 so far, and I've also started a separate list of jobs to do this year (mostly stuff that should have been done ages ago like boarding out the rest of the loft). I'm up to 31 It's gonna to be a tough year !!! Anyone else going to make any resolutions, and if so, what are they ? FA x

I think mine will be not to make any resolutions. I never keep them anyway and end up feeling a like a lost cause

One of mine is to pop - even if only once a week - to the local butchers in the next village and buy local meat and veggies from him There is a car park next door so no excuses

My new years resolution is not to sow too much stuff too early. I keep thinking about the triffid courgettes trying to escape out of the kitchen window ;D I need to do the Special K diet for a few weeks too but I'm not making any resolutions along those lines as I really have to be in the mood to get started on that - otherwise it is destined to be a failure.

I remember those courgette Jasmine. ;D I confess to sowing seeds too early too, I just be itching to get started. Having said that I've joined in with Dutchy's boxing day sowing fest for the onions, it's not too late for you to join. ;D

Oh yes I remember that too. ;D Never give up, that's what I say. I must have tried half a dozen times before I could get basil to grow for me. Absolutely one new years resolution I am going to stick rigidly to is to put labels on absolutely all the seeds I grow.

John Cushnie had a list of New Years Resolutions in The Gardening Telegraph yesterday (it was quite sad reading it as he was reminding himself to do things through the coming year ) and one of them was to label all his seeds/cuttings etc... I thought of my 2 lots of different gladiolas byzantine outside with no labels. I'm just remembering The Bride at The Back - hopeless It would be much easier to write some labels.

I don't do resolutions, I just go with the flow. Whatever changes I need to make in life must be done as and when - like not sowing too much too early! And labeling everything, and remembering where I've planted perennials and bulbs, and not rushing to get housework done because it just needs doing again sooner than if left ;D

Cleaning is just fluffing up dust that lands on something else ;D Do you think bathrooms reach a self cleaning stage if you leave them long enough ;D

One can live in hope Jas - although mine doesn't seem to get to bad these days, no kids living at home ;D
I am happy to adopt the mantra that no sane woman lies on her deathbed wishing she had spent more of her time on this earth doing housework!
