Yes Auricula , buy one, I bought ours for hubbys birthday last August, we use it a couple of times a week, today we were ten pin bowling, and playing tennis, we love the winter sports one for ski jumping and curling, hubby's very good at tiger woods golf games, as long as thats all he copies Tiger at ;D the only thing we don't play is the boxing, and of course all our grand kids have games at home, so when they come to visit they bring there own nunchucks, wheels and wands. ;D we have some great tournaments here.

Our Wii belongs to the boys really but we play on it with some of our friends too. We had great fun skiing and bowling at New Year. I love the skiing one where if you go wrong you end up rolling down the hill making yourself into a huge snowball with your skiis sticking out - simple pleasures ;D

That's the only bit about the Wii that I don't like - that weighing bit which then goes on to calculate your body age and a rough guide to your BMI. I keep thinking of all those impressionable teens finding out to their horror that they are 'over weight' or 'obese' whilst surrounded by their friends i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/shocked.gif

If our summer this year is anything like last years washout there will be plenty of days for playing with the Wii. Both my girls have them and used them more when they 1st got them but they say they use them every week still. Worth getting I'd say.

We bought one for Christmas and I can honestly say that we all love it, despite OH's protestations that he'd hate it. We've got Sports, Sports Resort, and Mario Kart, and love all three although the last is really a sitting down game. There are nice gentle sports like golf and bowling (ten pin), or more active games too. I like the boxing and tennis. Personally I would never buy one just to keep fit (I know people who have!!) but for lots of fun, and a bit of cardio-vascular exercise it's great. I would have a careful think about what you want from it. There's no point buying a disk of board games if you've got them all in the cupboard! And ask other people what games they'd recommend. Go for it!

Me too ;D Our friends have got sports...sports resort and fit plus the board. They're quite expensive I think, but I wouldn't mind, if we used it regularly. Can you keep them plugged in or does it interfere with the tv? Also, our sitting room is not very deep, do you have to be a long way from the screen? Thanks

The wii fit board is wireless...my wii is plugged in all the time and doesn't interfere at all with the TV, and you just have to be far away enough that you can see the screen comfortably, not right on top of it.

We have to play about a metre away from the screen, more if we move the coffee table. I'm not sure what you mean about the interference - it doesn't affect the TV signal. Ours is plugged in using the old fashioned coloured cables (yellow/red/black) rather than a scart plug, although the Wii comes with both options - the traditional wires and a scart adaptor. Because our DVD and video are using the scart plugs we had to use the other option. Check you have a place to plug in the Wii before you buy it!!! Then you just have to press the appropriate button on your remote when you want the Wii channel - for us it's called AV3 (DVD = AV1 and video + AV2).
Also have a shop around to see what deals you can get. We bought a black Wii with black remote, and it came with Sports and Sports Resort as part of the package. We seperately bought another remote (with Motion Plus because that's needed on some of the Sports Resort games, and other games that need extra sensitivity - you'll need a second remote if you want to play games against anyone) and the third game. We bought ours from John Lewis because they had the best deal, and we trusted them (they were cheaper than Amazon for example).
I hope that helps!!

And in the games shops you can buy ''pre-owned '' games that people swop in the shop for new ones, some folk get fed up quicker than others, my son in law does it all the time as he gets an almost new game for half price.
I bought mine at the games store it was about £250, with spare wheels and extra games, BUT not the extra insurance that they always try to push.
