Several years ago we put in an outdoor hot tub and I was concerned about the amount of heat lost to the cold Ontario Canada winters. The first year I watched the snow around the hot tub melt away. After a little thought I came up with a usable framework which allowed summer use but made a great greenhouse for the winter. The green house is made with 4 cm diameter plastic hose and covered with 2 layers of 6 mil poly. I then use a small cage blower to pressurise the 2 layers to give me an insulating value. Well again this year I am eating lovely red Tomatoes and fresh lettuce in February. All this is done with heat that would otherwise be wasted .

What is strange about that clever trick? Good thinking IR. Toms and fresh lettuce in February heated with the hot tub now there is a win win. Fun and food. Have you come up with more things like this? Love it.

That looks like it is a big one. I am sure the pic in Spring will explain the wooden framed boxes. I don't quite understand if they are box shaped glass panes in wood or real boxes.

they are pre built panels with plexiglass in them. It made it a lot simpler to build the ends . there is a door on both ends. doing it this way I made 4 of each size except for the doors and the box above the door. they are made from standard 2x4 framing lumber which is cheap and strong. very seldom does the temperature get below 16 degrees C. as a precaution I do have a small propane heater which will come on at 10 degrees C. has only happened once in 3 years. I will need to change the cover poly every 3 to 4 years. so my upkeep is quite low.
By the way Dutchy I love your signature... I use the same saying only I never ride faster... I have a Yamaha Venture 1200 cc motorbike
