That is actually what annoys me...there are people out there with nothing better to do that send viruses, malware, spyware, post so much that servers are brought down - just for the fun of it as far as I am concerned. Then companies like Proboards, their employees spend hours and sometimes days without sleep even, trying to keep everything going and clear up the mess...
I know it is frustrating for us when we are on a slow loading/not loading at all period, but it must be far worse for them and they always apologize for the inconvenience, even though it is often not their fault.

Just seen a message on PB Support.
Our web host has informed us that they are performing an emergency maintenance on routers in their network. This emergency maintenance is expected to last for up to 6 hours. During this time frame you may have very short periods where you can not properly load pages.

Ho hum. It has to be done, and RF has warned us, so we won't think it's our PCs playing up!

I'll have to give up for the moment, thanks, RF. It's either bumping me off, or being soooooooo slow that I could make a coffee while I move to the next post!

I got bumped off I've checked Proboards support and quite a few forums are reporting loading problems, although there are no known issues with Proboards servers that they can find. They think it might be an internet hub somewhere in the 'ether' that is having problems, although that seems illogical as I am not having any issues loading any other web-pages apart from Proboards ones. No doubt they will get to the bottom of it eventually. x Tig

I've had problems every time I've been on today - either being bumped off, or posts not posting.

I can give you a little tip if you've typed a long post and think it might not 'post' (page hangs) - highlight the text and right click the mouse to 'copy', then if the post does 'freeze' you can use reply, and paste what you had typed ... does that make sense x Tig

It was in the word association thread mostly - also in the coffee shop. Really irrittating. Yes, Tig, I did that because I got so fed up with losing all that I'd typed. Thanks, though.

Good tip Tig, I've done that before and I tend to do it anyway if I do a long post. I got timed out several times yesterday and also got the "maintenance" message. All seems well so far today If anyone has any little pc tips there is a thread here to share gardenworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=newbies&action=display&thread=2056 We tend to assume others know about these little things we all do and they don't.

Thinking about what Tig and you said, Chuckles, I might start copying a post anyway from now on, in case it all starts again today. Let's hope not, but it might.
