Or not to manure ?
Which crops like the mucky stuff and which crops hate it ?
Im sure i've read that some crops positively love manure and some will not grow in it but i don't know which ?

Just had a look in Dr Hessayon and the crop rotation page talks about manure etc
ROOTS - Do not add manure, Do not Lime, Rake in general purpose fertilizer 2 weeks before sowing or planting
BRASSICAS - Add well rotted manure or compost at digging time if the soil is known to be short of humus, Lime the soil unless you are sure it is already alkaline, Rake in general purpose fertilizer 2 weeks before sowing or planting
OTHERS - Add a liberal amount of well rotted manure or compost at digging time, Lime only if the soi is known to be acid, Rake in general purpose fertilizer 2 weeks before sowing or planting

my two rhubarb plants (planted too close together) are in a bit of a raised bed. I throw as much organic matter on them as soon as they go over. Either the mucky stuff or leaves or both. Held down with chicken wire.
good to go.
first cut this year was at the weekend.
