A friend of mine asked if she could grow them in pots? I have no idea as mine are in the ground so I thought I would ask the oracles on here!
Not sure which ones she has sown tho if that makes a difference?

I've not tried it, but I've been and had a look in a couple of my books and it seems it is possible. The containers must be quite large though and at least 18" deep to allow the roots to establish, with some fertiliser in the bottom of the pot to nourish them. Also they need to be kept well watered. Hope this helps until a proper oracle appears x Tig

I used a pot the first year I grew veg. I only had 4 in a very big pot and they were the best sweetcorn I have managed in the past 4 years!

Forgot to say - once the sweetcorn were tall they were always being blown over. I would put bricks in the bottom of the pot if I did it again.

Yes it does. If you Google Sweetcorn Lark you will get some info on a sweetcorn which is supposed to well in the British climate but I think you will find it still needs sunshine to ripen the cobs. What do others think?

Going to try it this year. I will plant 8 plants in 2 large tubs and just grow them like any other plant. They'll get watered daily and fed twice a week.

A friend of mine used an old bathtub for a long time and it worked great, plus had a good drainage hole, but I have also seen them grown in wheelbarrows and have grown them in large tubs myself. I agree on the bricks in the bottom to keep them from falling over. There is different sizes of plants as well, some only growing about 1.2 m high, which are better suitable for container growing.
Good luck!
