That's a real problem AL. They're only supposed to eat when they have the insulin - but, in a 2 cat household where food is always available you can't guarantee it. Also, they are hunters so you never know what or when they eat

You can only do your best and see how it all pans out Auricula. At least you're off to a good start.

How's the evening injection gone Auricula?

Ok, but the complication is that he has to eat within half an hour of the injection and this morning ( apart from a bit of cheese) he won't eat anything!!! Grrr.....it's one step forward then one back again - he was looking brighter but now I'm worried that I'm doing things wrongly - have to wait til we see vet on Friday. I told Becks that it was up to him....co operate or his days were numbered.......but he wasn't impressed ;D

You're doing your bit Auricula. Trouble is you'd even be able to reason with a toddler but pets don't have a clue.

Hi A, glad to hear the injections are doing him some good just keep your pecker up and keep telling him its for his own good. I know what you mean about them eating outside mine keep bring in mice everyday at least 2 each a day even though they have lots of food in the house waiting for them, there must ba a glut of mice up here in the fields.

Well done A. Whatever happens now, you've given it your best shot - lucky Becks to have such a good owner. Although he probably doesn't see it quite that way.
Daisy is only just speaking to me now. If I make a wrong move, i.e. one that could mean I'm about to grab her and put her the basket, she scarpers. So far tests are negative so we still don't know what causes her wheezing and sniffles. Vet still thinks asthma.

Thanks Blod. Hope they manage to sort Daisy out and you're back to full-cuddling relations with her soon x

Vet still thinks asthma. My cat sneezes a fair bit. Then again, we think he may've had cat flu when he was a kitten and that apparently makes them prone to sneezing etc when they're older. My Mum's current litter of foster kittens has one that's got the snuffles. Been prescribed antibiotics etc as they think it's a sinus infection.

Thanks both.
I've just been awarded an elbow wash while sitting here at my desk so I must be at least partly forgiven.
Daisy did have cat flu as a kitten so this may well be contributing to it. The antibiotics have worked their magic again this time and she's stopped snuffling and wheezing. It's just I don't want to have to keep taking her to the vet. Not that he's not a v nice vet, but she gets so stressed.
Still, it's not as bad as having to give injections.

I'm lucky that my vets are wonderful. BB has been a few times with various inflammations (scabby paws and swollen chin) and when I mentioned the sneezing and the flu she said it was likely the latter caused the former.

Just popped in to see how you got on at the Vets A??? One of mine is in the bad book last night she was up on the top of the living room unit for some reason or other and she knocked a vase off the top which shattered into a million pieces trouble is I can not replace it as I have had it for 25 years so now she has been warned another one and she gets the bullet

Did he like his food before Auricula or was he not fussed? When I put Bonnie's eye drops in this morning and she just sat there and let me do it I thought of you...and trying to do the same thing to a cat So you are doing brilliantly what with having to do injections
