Sorry for the delay, the poppies I want to plant on the same patch as my Daffs are these.
There doesn't seem to be a name of any record of a name!

They'll be fine, they are just the annual type - sprinkle the seed around where you want them to grow sometime soon and they'll be up and flowering in no time

I would just sprinkle them & just very lightly rake them in.

Jillyx They're all gorgeous Jilly but I like this one especially. I've got LG's Burgundy Frills, they come up every year now, and I've got some Cherry Glow with big fat buds but none have opened yet.

I agree it's smashing I love the pink and the purple together but they're all lovely. I've ordered several packets of different poppies for next year. Do you sow yours in springtime Rosefriend

Thanks for the nom Ladygardener... I normally sow in the Spring although I know that there isn't much that can kill poppy seeds, and I had a lovely packet all ready to sow and then each day there were more and more poppies coming through in the garden that I couldn't find any room for them. It turns out that OH threw handfuls of seeds all over in autumn!!! RF

Ah that's interesting Rosefriend I remember reading somewhere that they can survive for 50 years or more and some of the ones Jenny sowed last summer only bloomed this summer. I'm unsure if I should sow some in autumn or leave it until springtime. Thing is I know rightly that I'll end up digging up this or that and the seedlings and maybe the seeds will endo up getting buried so I should leave it. Maybe early spring. This year I sowed april or so and most of them are still small seedlings.

Ones that I want seeds from I have and am marking with pink cotton....then I shall see exactly where I want them next year and do a couple of small areas in autumn and a couple for later flowering in Spring...see if I can extend the season!! I also thought of doing a couple of tubs... RF

Such delicate flowers, and so beautiful - they are all worthy of a nomination! For your white and red one RF A few more from me to add to the collections The frilly oriental ones These are the large annuals - which have cross pollinated themselves over the years and a 'true' Victoria Cross
