Jasmine kindly shared some Dark Plum Poppy seeds with me and I think this beauty must be the first one of them, as I've certainly not had it before, the thing is it's on it's own and nowhere near where I though I sowed them Some of my normal red ones made themselves at home in the garlic bed & have grown huge with the extra rich soil in there.

Beautiful Rosefriend isn't it strange what different conditions do though, if your's are coming to an end. I've only got the first annual one opened yesterday, I tried to get a pic just now, but the sun wasn't properly on them, so I'll try again tomorrow.

Thanks for the nom Jilly - this year is relatively unknown for us here - normally I am lagging a couple of weeks behind you all, - this year we too had hardly a winter and suddenly it was as though everything exploded and made up for the terribly long winter we had last year... RF

That's beautiful Jilly. Rosefriend, it's been a strange year for you garden wise. Last spring I threw loads of poppy seeds on waste ground at the allotment, today when I went there some of them had started to bloom. This 1st pic is on my own plot and the flowers are massive. These others are on the waste ground. It was difficulty to get near them because of the bees.

This one is a particular beauty Rosefriend, but you've got such a lovely selection this year. A couple from me. There are pink poppies in here amongst the Borage honest I couldn't get a better angle without moving the bird bath.
