Some of you might remember i used to have a large koi pond in the garden. last summer, i got rid of it in preperation for a new greenhouse. The old pond is still there....well the walls are which are 3 feet high and made from 9" wide blocks. The overall size is 12 foot x 10 foot so it'll be a pretty good size. Anyway, after doing a bit of overtime last month, i finally ordered the bits for construction. I bought 120m of 2" x 2" treated timber which will arrive as 25 lengths of 4.9m. I also ordered 20 sheets of 4' x 2' x 4mm polycarb sheets for the glazing. Well that lot came to a touch under £200 and the timber arrives on friday.....guess what im going to be starting this weekend Ive got to cut a hole in the wall for a door with an angle grinder and i rekon i've got enough timber left over to make a decent lean to and a chicken run. Im going to try to make the greenhouse so it can be partitioned off inside to help save a bit of heat. There will be an electric and a water supply too. Pics to follow !!!

That's a great price Andy for the size of greenhouse you'll get - I look forward to seeing it go up!! Best get a shift on though, with all those seedlings to rehouse - hanging baskets to make-up and then tomatoes, cucumbers and whatever else you can fit in!

Well, been in the garden since about 9am and with the good weather and no interferance, i got the bottom part of the greenhouse finnished. Obviously i need to cut a hole for the door....in between the two panels on the right and it needs glazing....probably the last thing to be done. The two sides next to the fence will be boarded out as there's no reason for having the polycarb 6" away from the fence. I'll also incorperate a couple of windows. next step is to screw it all together and get it reasonably square then i shall start building the front and back gable ends before the roof strutts are added I'm going for a pint now so hopefully be able to carry on tomorrow

RF It has been built up a little over the years....i needed 4 tons of sand to put down for the patio. However, the gazebo next door collapsed in the wind so the roof is flat now !!!! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/wink.gif

Been staining the timber today...cuprinol, woodland green. Looks quite nice actually
Really need to wait for my pal to give me a hand before carrying on with the roof as he's got a bench saw which will cut all the angles the same.
