I've just been looking at the lovely photos of Geraniums two Akebia on her garden thread, lovely lovely My maroon one has just got itself established this year, 3rd year I've had it. Whilst its flowering now it is also putting out loads of new shoots at the top of the wooden arch it grows up, they are reaching for the sky, I was wondering if I should snip them off as they have nowhere to go Not really sure about pruning in general either. Anyone ?

I wind my new long shots around and around the others and as Geranium says if they start wandering along the ground which they have a tendency to do, after the Jack the Beanstalk trick, I just nip them off as well.
I have mine years and years now and I love them.

I'm struggling to get my akebia quinata seeds to germinate. First lot failed, second lot started off looking promising, I get the seeds started by soaking them in tepid water...popped them in a pot in the propagator....nuffink....I've now shoved the pot in the CF hoping that by ignoring it something will happen.....
