Firstly welcome to garden world.
As for the greenhouse, it would really depend what you want to grow. There's lots of quick growing bedding plants such as marigolds, nemisia, stocks, dahlias and alyssum which can still be grown and some of the hardy annuals such as Californian poppy, cornflower and larkspur will still make super plants for the summer.
I would say things like begonias, geraniums, petunias and nicotiana are a bit late.
There's also plenty of veg that can be sown under glass...cucumbers and courgettes, beans and peas, all the salad crops and spuds in tubs....plenty of time for that.
Good luck and let us know what you've grown
Andy

yeah....lots of colourful Dahlia species. They're very quick to germinate and give a stunning splash of colour. I've grown a species called "clangers mixed" which gives cactus type blooms.
Anyway mate, stay around and ask lots of questions....i only started growing veg last year and this lot have give a superb amount of advice.

You could start some plants right now on a warm windowsil and transfer those to the GH later when it is up. Depending on where the GH sits you might need tempersun or what ever GH whitening is called it does get raving hot inside.
I too have my first ever GH and am at the moment growing early carrots in there so with luck will have my first nibble end april early May before my tomatoes go in.
I grow mostly veg in there.

Welcome to GWD, Dave. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif Yes as Dutchy says, GH shading is worth considering as it reduces the possibility of scorched seedlings whilst still allowing the maximum amount of light to reach the plants. I use Coolglass GH shading which is a chalk-like solution that you mix with water and paint on. In the autumn or when the danger or scorching has passed, you can wipe it off with a dry cloth but it needs to be done on a dry day as it's designed to be unaffected by rain and will just smear if you try to wash it off.

Welcome Dave, I sowed some Dwarf and Runner beans last week in my GH and they are starting to show today so I would say you could have some time to get things going in yours.
