In the garden this morning, I noticed my soft fruit bushes are growing apace now. For anyone who didn't already know, this is an ideal time to take cuttings by layering. This simply means taking a healthy, low growing branch, take out a shallow hole in the soil, nick the bark where the branch reaches the soil, bend down to the hole, peg down & backfill.
In the spring next year all you need to do is sever it from the parent plant & you have a plant for free.

Great tip David I found some free Rasberries yesterday growing in my veg plot. Last year I had 2 large pots of them just placed on the ground, when I moved them earlier this year I noticed the roots had took a hold through the drainage holes in the pots. Low and behold yesterday I saw these new shoots with leaves, they have come from the root that was left in the ground. Thought about you rabbit nibbling problem Jasmine, as long as the roots are still there you should still get new growth
