Yesterday we recieved a statement from n.power, we're £567.00 in credit, so from now on they will ''only '' be taking £75.00 a month from us, do we get back whats overpaid, ? if not why not, they are making interest on my money, someones getting a 'phone call today, has anyone else had anything like this.

That's atrocious Barbara - I would stop the direct debit or standing order til you are not in credit for that huge sum. OH deals with our electricity and I don't know how he does it but every time they say they want to put the monthly sum up he sorts them out so it stays the same.

I'm on a roll, I read the bill from virgin, we have all the film channels for £29.00 we never watch them, ''I want to cancel them'' I said to the girl, ''you can't'' she said'' they are part of your sports channels'' , we love our sport hear, but I'd started so .... I said ''well cancel that as well'' , wait a moment she said I'll see what I can do for you, 10 seconds later ''OK thats sorted I've taken the movies off your package and your bill anything else I can do for you.'' I could be a rich woman soon at this rate . ;D

Yes I had an issue with SSE who supplied my uncle's property. They owed him over £700 and were fully intending to carry it forward even though the amount was growing all the time as he was already paying too much. That was until I intervened and got him a refund.
All utility companies are obliged to refund credit balances when asked to do so but it's obviously in their interest to hang onto it if they can.
I now seem to have my own supplier E.oN onside as there was no attempt to tinker with my monthly payments last autumn as had been the case in previous years, and as a consequence my May bill was £2.07 in credit which confirms that I am paying the correct monthly amount.

We are with N Power to and when ever we are in credit i just give them a quick phone call and they pay it back into our bank no problem. It has happened a few times with us and iv never had any problems with them.Like you say Barbara its nice to have that windfall when not expected.
