Don't know if I should post this here or not, but it's the only "Help Needed" thread, and I certainly could use some help. If this post shouldn't be on this thread then I guess Admin will relocate it to where it should go.
My problem is with Photobucket. I hadn't used it for a long time and when I did go back to it a few weeks ago to load some pics in preparation for posting to the board i found that it had been "updated and improved". To make a long story short, the net result for me is that now I can't figure out how to post pics from it once manage to load them onto Photobucket, It used to be that I would simply click on the "IMG" code or whatever it is called, copy it and then paste it into a post here on the board. It's no longer happening that way. When I put the cursor on the IMG thingy, instead of it becoming highlighted so that I could copy it, all I keep getting is the "finger" symbol and no option to highlight the code and copying it. Is it me doing something wrong or is there a new way to copy and post pics from the "new and improved" Photobucket? Any suggestions/guidance from anyone?

Hi TT - yes Photobucket have once again made things easier for us all updated things.
I have found that the are times the copy works automatically when the cursor is pointed at the IMG code and other times it doesn't.
I click left on the IMG code which highlights it, then click right and copy....
Back on GWD or where ever, I right click and paste....

I click on the share option, under the picture, then click on get get link code, then right click on IMG, click on select al,l then right click again on copy and bring it over here ,. I just wish they'd stop improving it I liked it as it used to be.  I struggled the first time TT after they had messed about with it.  |

Just click on help at the bottom of the page TT that might do the trick.

TT - is there any chance that you can give me screenshots as to what exactly is happening as I don't understand why you can copy/paste your pics...??

I have been having the same problem TT and now I click on where it says IMG code and not the code box and it works for me, hope you get it sorted soon.

I really don't know why PB keep changing things, anyway, what I suggest that you do TT is to first click on the small down arrow to the right of your username in Photobucket (towards the top right of the screen). From the dropdown menu select Account Settings. On the screen that next appears, click on the Album Settings tab (2nd from top left). Under 'Show Links in My Albums' make sure that the Always box is checked (as opposed to On Mouse-over). Also make sure that from the list below that you at least check the IMG code box. [I have Direct Link, HTML Code, IMG Code and IMG Thumb(nail) selected on my own PB account.] Click Save and if this doesn't return you to your albums click on My Albums on the bar at the top of the PB screen. You will now have visible codes for each of your photos and so you can Left Click to highlight the IMG code and then Right Click and Copy as before, and obviously paste into the GWD posting window. Essentially that puts things back as they were before PB b******d it up, ...ahem... changed things around! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/wink.gif |

Thanks for all the advice folks. I think I might have sorted it out, but I'm not quite sure how. I've just managed to post a pic on the "Getting the Blues" thread. I've been trying to follow the various pieces of advice, now I have to see if I can consistently do the same thing. fingers crossed. ;D

YESSS! Looks like I've finally got it figured out. I've posted a few. Thanks for your help folks. Now, a quid will get you five that tomorrow morning PB will have a "new and improved" set up to confuse, bemuse and frustrate again.
