Today I sowed 2 lots of Cosmos Antiquity using the same pots and the same compost. One lot are in the plastic GH with the front open and one lot are in the lobby. There should be plenty of breeze and wafting in the GH and very little in the lobby. Will be interesting to see the difference in the seedlings...if any.

My tray of lettuce seedlings got wafted all the way down the side path and round into the front garden, I'll be sowing some more tomorrow.

Oh dear indeed Barbara. I was thinking about sowing cosmos today for this trial but it's just too windy and I can't put them into the mini growhouse as it's still got it's bubble wrap and is zipped up tight because of the freezing winds.

I have a basketful of ordinary lettuce growing merrily away, I've eaten loads of leaves from it, the windward ones were lollo rosso, but I have others on the kitchen windowsill. always have a backup plan where possible. How many lettuce do you reckon we eat. ?

I will try with the Honey Bee mixed wild flowers as some of them are getting a bit leggy if thats OK. I have put them outside the GH so they are getting just a slight breeze now and again, one question though do we do this every day and fetch them in again at night?

Forgot to get some pics before I started planting but I have to say the outside grown cosmos was sturdier and straighter than the cosmos that was started off indoors. I wonder how much of that is down to light levels rather than the plants being wafted in fresh air or a breeze, or perhaps a breeze/wafting and incresed light is the answer.

I potted on my wafted Cosmos the other day and they were lovely and strong although they're still very small. I agree with Jasmine 'tho, it may be a combination of more light as well as the breeze. Having said that I had to pop the whole tray of them into the mini growhouse because of the gales and heavy rain. The door was open 'tho so they were'nt being cosseted. ;D
