I've got some Nigella that I've earmarked so I can get the seed from them as they're pink and I want them for a friend. Today I noticed that the opening flowers are white and not pink like the first ones to open. Is this normal? Has anyone else got flowers that are different colours coming from the same stem? i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/undecided.gif

I often have pale 'new' flowers LG, then they turn into the 'normal' colour (I've only got them in shades of blue), so I expect yours will turn pink soon as they open fully and maybe get some sun! Tig

Ah perhaps that's the problem Tig, we've not had much sunshine lately. It'll be interesting to see if the white ones do change colour.

I don't know if this is normal or not but I've got both pink and blue Borage on the plant at the allotment. Very strange to see pink flowers when you're expecting blue.

The reason for that is in a chapter in that book I got the seedlings growing a breeze information from LG but it had very long words to explain flower colouring and I can't remember what they are - Ken Thompson used pulmonaria as an example.

I tried googling Jasmine but I can't come up with a reason. I most likely would'nt understand it all anyhow.
