Dave (black & white in the photo) was taken to the vet last week, to have a biopsy from his tongue taken. Unfortunately, the results were not good at all, and yesterday evening he was put to sleep. I will miss my little man hugely, as he was a great character and very affectionate. I have some wonderful memories of him. His final resting place will be at the lottie, with a photo of his mum, Morph (also in the picture).  |

It was such a hard decision to make and, although I know it is for the best (he had terminal cancer and would only have got much worse and very quickly) it doesn't at the moment, make me feel better about making it.
All of the kind words posted mean a lot, and I am very grateful for them.

I'm so sorry BP for your loss such a beautiful pic of both of them, I would be lost without my 2 also, and you wouldnt have wanted him to suffer so you made the right decision even though I can tell it was a very hard one to make.

I'm so sorry Bagpuss - it is such a hard decision to make but he would have had a very happy cat life with you and you must try not to feel bad about having to make that decision for him. |

So sorry for your sad loss BP, I lost both of mine recently and know what a hole they leave in your life. However, you can be consoled by knowing you did the right thing in not letting him suffer....remember him with love |

I think that most people that have had pets have been in this situation Bagpuss - I certainly have, but have always consoled myself that at least we can shorten their suffering, even if we cannot do it for ourselves...
