Oh well, apple is good too LG - after you've got over the surprise of it not being mincemeat! ;D I've got a Yankee Christmas candle going. Biggest twin came downstairs to Christmas cupcake this morning and wasn't impressed!

I've put the marzipan on my cake this aft and used the surplus I cut off to make little petit fours - mixed with some cocoa and sherry, then coated in chocolate shavings, they won't last long ;D
Got my second card today, so must make an effort to write mine tonight and tomorrow.
Off to look for my Christmas cds (they are old but all my favourite Carols and festive songs are on them)

Got a new star for the tree when I went to the GC to top up on bird food, it's all very well hanging on to old decs for sentimental reasons but my old one had tarnished tinsel & very few points left i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif Got a really cute little Robin sitting on snowy watering can too, for the mantelpiece to go with the 2 Robins on a snowy postbox I got last year. All cards sent now.......decs are up but..............after great deliberation (and seeing my GD with the Christmas trees ) I decides to get an artificial tree this year, I thought that as I have her most of the week 'elf & safety' should prevail......I dont like the tree one little bit as I love real ones but she wont be little for ever

What's dangerous about a real tree?

when my son was small and we had a real tree he ate some of the needles and was quite ill afterwards....also as she is just starting to walk properly she still has little falls and I would hate for her to grab the tree and have it fall on her..the articial one is lighter so it wouldnt hurt her so much

not really...I will have a real one again soon..another year maybe. although the price of real trees has really shot up..I usually pay around £25 in the GC for tree but when I was there having coffee with friends I had a look at them and the real tree that I would have normally got was £40-£50 this year

Sounds very festive Missy, some of the artificial trees look great. I went to put mine up this morning but the bits that join onto the stand have broken, it'll have to be dumped. I don't think I'll put a tree up now, there isn't going to be anyone here anyhow and I don't want the bother of buying a new one. I've written my cards for the neighbours and my borthers and sisters, that's it for now.

Oh dear LG, are you sure you couldn't improvise and stand it in a pot or something. I remember my Nan using a pot and wedging the tree in with bricks and covering them with tinsel. Must get up in the attic and find my very small pre decorated tree

I got another little set of battery operated LED lights for the little tree on the piano. I quite like these battery operated lights - you don't have to put things near a plug!
