I'm half way through doing my cards, and have got fed up already - it is a bitter sweet experience in some respects, another four people's partners have passed away since last year and it is a challenge to find cards that have the right words in them Seasons greetings is the best option I reckon, rather than Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Better get on and finish them, OH has a face on 'cos I've taken over the dining table x Tig

I know 2 people who've lost a parent this past year and I'm sure at this time of year it'll be difficult for them too Tig.

No chance of that Amber, if left to his Lordship we would probably just treat December like any other month of the year I've got them all done and sealed, just need to buy another book of stamps now, 23 of them need posting Next job to do is wrap the prezzies. Then I may ice and decorate the cake - I bought some little sugar Santas and Snowmen faces on Sunday to stick on it x Tig

Spru must have eaten it Jas Carol I'm giving most of my lot Argos vouchers, I'm fed up of trudging round looking for things they might like, and at least they can club them together as a 'family' and buy something more 'expensive' if they want As for your FiL, a hot dinner and some pudding should be enough at his age, perhaps some new teeth? x Tig

Well I have wrote all the cards most of them should get posted today when OH goes to the post office. Jen if he cant get the card delivery right then there is no chance of him being let loose on the garden he could just be one of those men that does it on purpose so he doesnt have to deliver them again, we call them lazy good for nothings up here. ;D unless it is something they want to do and will benefit them.

I'm right chuffed - met daughter for lunch and she wanted to go looking for some new boots in the sales (little does she know I've already bought her a pair of leather ones to replace some she has worn out ) Anyway, off we trundle to a very expensive shop and although they had several in her size they weren't what she wanted. As we walked through the Guildhall arcade we looked in a couple of new clothes shops, she pulled a face when I said 'let's look in here' until I shouted her back having spotted some boots in the window with a £5 sticker on them! Just what she likes, they had her size as well - they also had my size ;D At the back of the shop they had some 'one offs', she is a size 3 and they had some winkle picker cowboy boots with a front lace-up, also for a fiver! 3 pairs of boots for £15 - now that's what I call a bargain. I'm sat here typing with mine on - need to break them in before I venture forth in them - I confiscated daughters, she can't have them until Christmas Day x Tig

Off to help at the boys' school's Christmas Fayre today. I'm on the book stall with my friend and another friend is coming to help at bit later on so we should get a good look round this year. It was the 2 of us doing books and toys last year and we didn't stop - it was manic.
