I haven't bought anything for Xmas and don't intend to for weeks.... Just come back from buying paint, turps, brushes etc to paint the bathroom.....couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a notice in bright red!! "70% reduction on Christmas decorations"
It's not even the end of October for gawd's sake!!! Mind you they have had them in since August - perhaps they want the space for Easter bunnies in November!!

You could pick up some bargains there 'tho Rf. Jasmine I think now is a good time to shop, if you have an idea what you're looking for. No point leaving everything until the last minute when everything is picked over or sold out. If I knew what I'm ment to be getting I'd be out there too.

There isn't really anything much for me to buy - the grandkids get money from the grandparents which is put towards something bigger that they would like. Adults don't get prezzies anymore...OH and I don't buy each other anything either...
I still have some UK Xmas cards and just need to buy some German ones....turkey is already in the freezer - not much more to do. Bit of deco in the house but just for the two of us not much.....

My In-laws don't make a fuss for themselves - they come here anyway so they sit round our tree! Laura Ashley has a sale on so I bought some reed fragrance thingummybobs for friends - the sale made the prices a bit more realistic. The local GC had the most gorgeous decorations but I was strong and resisted. Sadly nothing was 70% off in their decoration section!

I love those reed thingmebobs but the refills are always so expensive so I just usually just buy new ones....
I went to Ikea today and got a few bits including some tulip bulbs

There are some lovely books for children - I saw one that when opened all sorts of noises came out; it was the story of Peter Pan - I wanted to buy it (for myself )

I love buying books for the children too and am delighted they all love to read or listen to stories. I've just bought a set of Winnie the witch books for the girls. Hannah is currently going through a boxed set of Roald Dahl books I bought her a while ago.

That's nice Lady - does anyone buy Enid Blyton for their children anymore I noticed a few in the shops last week
I used to save all my pocket money so I could buy one; they were very expensive I do remember - the Mums in the books were mostly not married - divorced or widowed - and the children called her "partner" Uncle used to think that was very odd at the time but not now of course

Just had one of those or possibly moments. The GC over the road has been putting together it's Christmas display this week, we've noticed for a few nights now, a sort of violet glow coming from that direction, it's a tree & honestly if you had it in a normal house you'd have to issue the whole family with protective glasses i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif Curiosity got the better of me tonight, so I went for a closer look. Well it is very beautiful in a gaudy way, an 8' tree, that's shaped like a normal tree, not a Christmas tree. Every branch covered with crystal flowers, each with pink, blue of white lights. Then I spotted the price, £1,999.99 to you sir or madame & they say there's a recession i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/lipsrsealed.gif Quite nice for us though, we've just got to open the curtains i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/wink.gif Jillyx

Think there were mice in/near the barn. Hardly surprising on a farm I guess. Biggest twin was not keen on the rural smells!

I have started to think about what to cook on Boxing Day - there will be about 6 or 7 of us Saw a great recipe in Hello magazine - Carrot, Ginger and Coconut Soup - I will have to check that all the guests are ok with ginger and coconut - everyone loves carrots
