I'm cheating again this year because I spotted a really juicy looking uniced Luxury Christmas cake in Wilkinsons 907g for £3 and I couldn't bake one for that money! I've bought some marzipan from Sainsburys for £1.49p and I will ice it with fondant icing for £1.85p - so the end result should equate to a £15 ready iced one in the supermarket. I also bought a 350g christmas pud in Wilkies (with cider) for £1 - also cheaper than I could make I'm not buying many prezzies this year, they are all getting vouchers with just one wrapped gift each to open on the day. Got my cards in the post Christmas sales, and enough wrapping paper left over from previous years, and half a box of crackers .... so it'll just be the food and drink shopping to sort out. Sorted x Tig

Well I was invited to sons in-laws for Christmas but as my daughter is cooking her first Christmas dinner and she hs her elderly in-laws round I thought that I should stick around just in case Son and DIL are coming up on Christmas eve and staying overnight then driving home for dinner Christmas day so they will be here to open their pressies.....

I noticed tonight that telly ads are getting more and more Christmas focussed ..... I expect Auricula will be shutting her eyes and covering her ears ;D Does anyone know if I can 'lace' my bought chrissy cake with a bit of extra sherry before I stick the marzipan on it? OH doesn't drink alcohol, but he loves sherry trifle and I thought it would make a nice change x Tig
