When I lived in Bradford, my car was registered in my Dad's name at his house in Wales.
There were signs up saying not to park on the main road outside where I lived from 8am on whatever date it was, for the following 3 days. The first day, nothing happened. The second day, I was woken at 7am by the noise of workers outside. So, I got dressed and went outside to move my car... only to find they'd scraped the tarmac off the road around my car already, and contacted the Police about my vehicle causing an obstruction.
I got a phone call at 3pm ish from my Mum saying "The Police are here asking us to move your car because it's causing an obstruction". Apparently, the Police officers were very confused by this request to move a car in Bradford lol
Also, if they had waited until 8am to start work, as the sign said, they wouldn't have had to leave my car on a little island of raised tarmac at the side of the road!

Goodness April what a faff
They are doing the road markings round here and I watched the way they painted the white line down the middle - very precise with a machine - and then another guy immediately puffed at it with some kind of white powder which I assumed was a way to quick dry the paint
I could smell the powder as I passed in my car and I noticed neither men were wearing masks or eye protectors

You're right Amber One of the most dangerous roads in the UK is the road thru to Buxton to the Cat and Fiddle - think is highest point so they dig out the cat's eyes and dont replace them The road at night is totally dark - no street lights at all - and sheep roam free too

We've got roads like that in some parts of NI JW. In the winter it's hard to get through them because of snow and they really are treacherous.

I hate this road RF there are a lot of motor bike accidents here and the bends are dreadful - they use it as a "race track" I would visit Buxton more often as it is only 25 mins away but the road just scares me off If it is foggy, which it is quite often, then that's even worse

When I moved down here I had a tiny Mercedes, then a mini, and I thought driving around the lanes was a doddle ;D Since I have had my big car, I realise how narrow the lanes really are ( and hilly, and bendy)I hate reversing along them if i meet another car, and my nice black car has lots of bramble scratches along the sides Time for a Smart Car methinks ;D ;D
