Sorry Pam not grown that one before but it looks a lovely colour, I have one called Crimsonia which is scented but can get a bit straggly.

I've got some seeds of them to sow (courtesy of Geranium , although I don't think they are as 'blue' as the photo shows, more a mauvey pinky colour Soil conditions might have an impact on the colour - but I won't know until I've grown them x Tig

Read about them here. www.robsplants.com/plants/DiantAmureDianthus seed is normally one of the easiest to germinate. Needs no heat and the seeds are best sown on the surface rather than buried in compost. I usually put grit on the seed opt and then scatter the seeds on the grit and water them in. They can germinate within 24 hours.

I agree with you Tig on the soil conditions flowers seem to be a slightly differant shade in other parts of the country, cant remember who it was but someone had got the Clemantine Verbascum and it was more yellow than orange, was it Andy? Give them a whirl Pam you cant loose anything and you could always complain if the colour is not right. I must say that the colour on the pic looks more lilac than blue to my eyes.

But what such pretty things to self seed owdboggy,. This one is so delicate and I really like the light on this one. They look like they are almost shimmering.
