Well caught Rony. A pair of sparrows evicted a pair of blue tits from our box in the front garden - lord what a bun fight that was! I was a bit upset but OH said there aren't very many sparrows and there are zillions of blue tits.

Thank kou, all, for the responses! Sparrows are makinga comeback, I think. I had seen less of them, there's no doubt, but like Jasmine's the ones here saw the blue tits off. The blue tits were born here in a bird box and stayed on, feeding from a hanging feeder I put out, but as soon as the sparrows saw it, they took over.
