Can anyone please help me identify this plant which a friend of mine has just fetched me as he has found it growing in one of his fields it looks like the centre of a buttercup but without petals on it the leaves are like a clover but only grow on one side of the stems to me it looks like a creeping type of plant, many thanks in advance for any help on this. We need to know if its harmful for sheep and horses as we have had a lot of lambs this year with what we thought was sunburn but in past years one the odd one or two have been affected and now with this years weather being so we and not being able to get onto the land to cut down rushes as we have done in other years early and what not we have come across a plant called Bog Asphodel which affect the kidneys of lambs and also their ears which eventually fall off which looks quite a mess on the poor things also the wool starts to fall out.
