I liked him best, right at the beginning. Then, as time went on I felt he was getting a bit out of his depth. Which I was sorry about, because he seemed like just a nice ordinary wee guy. But when he and Rhydian sang their Christmas song at the end, I truly liked his version best. Though I am quite sure that Rhydian will find work through the programme. He was talented, but strange. Hooray for the Glasgow boy ;D I belong to Glasgow, dear old Glasgow town..........................

Louie Walsh the pits how could he try and encourage the votes If all Scotland vote tonight then Leon will win he shouts That was really unfair - no one said if all Wales vote etc etc I think in the end it was maybe more political than who should win but then isnt everything Yes I think Rhydian will become a star regardless and I for one will go to his concert - his is strange but then that is what sells records - and poor little Leon seems so out of his depth and a lot out of tune too

I was angry about the Louis Welsh comment too Jenny, but for different reasons. Despite agreeing with you about Leon, he was out of his depth till the very end when he surprised me, it is insulting to use nationality as an aid to winning. I expect he thought there was no need to say that about Rhydian, Louis would be expecting him to romp through to win. It is always said when Scotland is in the running for something. If you lived up here, you would know that when a Scot loses, he remains a Scot, when he is a winner, he is British. We are still seen as a nation inferior to England, by the media. I think that is why most of us like the England teams in sport to lose. So, in every way, Louis' comment was wrong, but he is a silly wee man anyway. I reckon it was his way of telling Leon he didn't like him. Rhydian will be around far longer than poor Leon, who will never be able to stand the pressure. Apart from that, I'm quite sure it is fixed anyway. Can you imagine Simon Cowell giving 'Same Difference" a record contract? I don't think so. And Rhydian is not the sort of act to make him money either, because young people, the money spenders will not buy his records. I'm sure that is why Niki went too. From the outset, we know a cutie is going to win. Selling us all short. In the end Jenny, I reckon both of us wasted our money.

I didn't see the programme, but Louis Walsh is indeed an unpleasant character (I don't know if one can be had up for libel on a message board, so am moderating my language), so nothing he says would surprise me. A few years ago Ireland hosted the Special Olympics: thousands of ordinary people up and down the country got involved in it, from hosting contestants to helping with the events themseves. A few days before the games started, Walsh said those involved in organising it were on an ego trip (rich coming from him), and made some quite derogatory remarks about the games themselves ... the man makes squillions from exploiting people's desire for fame .... oooh, I'd better stop here ... cheers ...

Just a final ickle word - I think Louie has a massive problem with Simon - jealousy could be one of them - shame eh?
And yes agree poor Leon I think too young to handle it all - he wont stand a chance if/when they take him to the US
Rhydian - have you noticed - stands very tall and straight - he has a wonderful posture - he would be a good ambassador for the UK in the US ;D

I sort of had one eye on the TV and the other shared between GWD and e-mails Did you see those massive gardens which were mainly lawn, lovely but OH said he'd have to get a mini digger in to make it like I like a garden, sectioned off and like rooms. Ooooh I'm green with envy after watching that

Funny you should mention that programme. Apparently there was one on recently where people were looking around Cannock Chase. A friend of mine is looking to move and saw the "wild-card" pink cottage and decided it was the house she NEEDS! None of us know where it is though!

I thought Leon sung a little 'out of tune' aswell--

I fell asleep AGAIN whilst watching Cranford I really must get it on DVD when it's available and then save it for a rainy day! I used to love wearing bonnets when I was a child. And now I love hats but rarely wear one.

I haven't watched the final episode of CRANFORD yet - went to a Christmas party last night. I am really looking forward to watching all those poor women in their "straitjackets" swooning over the poor young doctor. I also think we should have a "Bring back the Bonnets Campaign"

Am I the only one who thought Rhydian was quite scary looking! I'm sure he's a very nice lad but he sounded better than he looked. As for young Leon, I'm pleased he won but have to agree about him being tough enough He looked like a startled deer caught in the headlights!

No Nightowl, you are not alone. And I thought Danii did him no service by dressing him like a hybrid of Elvis ,Liberace and Billy Idol. NB I got a wee gardening word in there ;D

A friend of mine came round this afternoon - she's a professional singer (trained at the Royal Academy of Music don't you know!) and we ended up talking about The X Factor. She said that Rhydian was by far the better singer and it was really unfair that he didn't win. I didn't watch so can't comment myself ;D

Yes he did look scary - is his hair THAT blonde - or helped along But dont forget the US will love him - so British, unusual, blonde, rugger player and so on Leon poor boy will just fade into the background eventually Rhydian can handle anything thrown at him I cant wait for the tour to come to the MEN - I shall be there thats for sure
