I had to laugh, next week is prop week and there are quite a few posts on DS about Samia already being used as a prop. Some folk have suggested she be given a chair to sit on so she's more comfortable.

I suppose the judges votes are about trying to keep viewers as there has been a lot of talk about the number of people watching this series, and that ITV might not bother with it next year.
As long as Gareth and Beth get through to the final, I think both of them have improved massively since the start.

I wonder how it will all go this evening. I must take a peek at DS and see what they've been chatting about (who has been slated) this week.

Weren't they all good! Even Samia, her solo skating was performed with more confidence than I've seen her show before! If it is her last show at least she did herself proud. Not sure that the scores quite reflected the quality of the performances, I thought the other four were worthy of more equal points. Although Matt had the most entertaining routine, that is down to Chris and Janes choreography, but obviously he is a very capable skater. Did anyone else think that Chris didn't quite get his hold right with the lifts in their performance? I thought a couple of times Jane looked a bit tense

Tig I agree with you about Chris, it was a fairly cautious routine but good to see them on the ice again although not for very long, I thought they might have skated through the whole song but no. Overall it was a much better show than I thought it would be. I don't normally like props week but last night with the exception of Samia they did incorporate the props well into the routine. The skate of went well for both couples and the result was the right one in my opinion.

I thought that too about Chris and Jane but I heard via this Thread Chris has had some injuries which of course may have contributed towards their performance
They are doing something spectacular next week as it is "Flying Week"

The flying is amazing but OH thinks the show shouldn't be called Dancing on ice if they're going to do this - he suggests 'Twiddling about over the ice'

I thought he was going to pass out while they were stood talking, he went a very funny colour!!! It will take a miracle for him to stay in, not sure if he'll be OK for a skate off

I felt sorry for him too and it's a shame to loose him from the competition especially as what put him out in the end was'nt even skating related.

Great performances on the final show - very pleased Beth won

I was delighted Beth won, I thought T&D did a very good Bolero too and was'nt bored with it at all. I did notice that Jason was less than impressed with Beth's win, he looked like he was sucking a lemon.

I didn't notice Jason's face but I thought Matt seemed turned to stone when he realised he hadn't won
After watching her dance Bolero I decided I wanted her to win and was so glad she did. She comes over as being a really nice girl without any edge or hidden agendas

I think that is probably what swayed the public vote Jen, plus a lot of people perhaps felt Matt should have gone out rather than Shane, when he had the mishap in the skate off weeks ago. It makes the judges look flawed when for some contestants they insist that they can't make errors, then ignore them when it suits.

Found out who won at school today - what a nice surprise. Beth really found her inner performer during the series! Jason was in a very good mood last night!

I think I posted a while ago about the commentator Tony Gubba; for some reason you never see him only hear him but he seems to know a lot about skating
A bit like "Our Graham" on Blind Date
Just heard on the News that the Commentator Toby Gubba has died. He was 69
I notice on google they spell his name Gubba and also Grubba

They mentioned him commentating on DoI in the bulletin we watched on BBC1 JennyWrennhe was only 69, Christine mentioned he was ill last week and that they had a stand-in commentator.

I think she's gone out with a few of her dance partners JennyWrenn. I heard about Tony Gubba on the news, a short illness.

For anyone who is interested. Eurosport are covering the figure skating grand prix this weekend and all next week in through next weekend as well. I've a series link recording on them and there's lots to see. I've caught up with some of it, very high standard and very enjoyable.
