Forgot to say, I love this combination Jasmine, sometimes the accidental ones are the best. A few bits of Spring from me. I'll put this here to remind me how pretty the self seeded forget me nots make everything look, when I'm pulling them all out from everywhere in a few weeks. Brunnera

The blue of the forget me not is so beautiful, for some reason I don't have as many this year. I've most likely pulled them all up so I know what you mean Jilly they do look great especially with the wallflowers.

That's a gorgeous c. mac Jilly! Is it Blue Bird? I've been admiring my early flowers this morning, Constance is out, Willy, Markhams Pink and the alpina are in full bud just about to burst open

Thanks for the noms . I don't think it's got a name Tig, I've had it for years & from what I can remember it was a little Homebase rescue, it does look like Bluebird though doesn't it? Not sure how old a variety Bluebird is. I did notice a few dead bits on it this morning, I think one of the stems must have snapped (or been snapped : , luckily not a very big bit.

It could be macropetala wesselton (sp) Jilly - I have that and it looks very similar for it whatever it is. Thanks for your nom too.

I was sure I'd posted earlier on here Blue Bird was introduced commercially in 1969 so it is a possible, as is Wesselton

I tried to post earlier too Tig, but I was chased away by Bears . For some reason the name Pamela something springs to mind, but I may be thinking of another one

I've got clematis alpina Pamela Jackman, it is a similar colour but mine are single, according to the RHS it can be a double though

Jilly, your photos are beautiful. My camera won't take a picture of the whole thing, but my favourite alpina is in flower - 'Helsingborg'. I've also got 'Francis Rivis', but the silly plant has climbed up the inside of the obelisk instead of outside where it belongs! The Euphorbia polychroma is always a delight. I love the colour... My first Geranium this year is in flower - G. malviflorum.

That's the thing that's always struck me about Clematis, so many are very similar and even the same one can produce different flowers depending on if it's blooming in late spring or late summer and where it's planted. Very confusing.

These are in my neighbours garden, they make a wonderful show every spring but simply won't grow for me. She obviously has totally different soil to mine.

Is that an azalea, Ladygardener? It's a very tidy one, but lovely.

Yes it's an Azalea of some kind Geranium, it's a few years old as far as I remember. They grow Heathers and Forest Flame too, all the things I don't.

Must be in an acidic pocket your neighbours - you're much too nice to have any acid in you Ladygardener so that's why they don't do as well for you I have an azalea like that one

Yes Auricula must be very acid. It does add a nice spash of colour every spring and it suits her to keep things neat and tidy and not tall in any way.

Spring is moving along nicely here. A bit behind you folks on the other side of the big pond, as usual, but we're doing well. The weather has settled down in to more typical spring weather over the past week or so; nice warm sunny days with some nice rain showers thrown in, so the garden is looking springlike and healthy. Some of the usual spring suspects. Pulmonaria doing well. And brunera holding its own. Rock Cress Wall flowers Back garden foundation border. I've been refreshing some of my beds and borders this spring with some "good stuff" compost and soils I've been picking up at a new place I found. I don't particularly like the pre-packaged stuff the garden centers sell. A wisteria with buds I picked up last week. Ligularia off to a strong start. Rock Cress Annual anemone
