Feu de Joie is a bit of a mad scramble of petals when you look closely isn't it Tig - it'll be interesting to see what the other ones look like when they open but of the 3 bulbs I think one looks like it might be blind.

Yesterday's sun kindly opened my 'Little Beauty' tulips. Here are some of them growing though the aubrieta outside the front door. I love the blue centres.

Snakes head fritillary This one is just curling open. Very pleased with myself. This is the first time I've managed to get any to grow :-)

Well done prodigal gardener I've never had any luck with them. Geranium the tulips are lovely, I think some of mine are like that but they won't be opening today to let me see.

No, mine are tightly closed today. Well done, prodigal gardener. I don't find them easy either.

Some of my tulips were open today, most of them are still in bud though! Took these to share today ... More fritilliaries - but a bit bigger, last year the yellow ones just had leaves, but I've got a flower this year And the 'red' one has performed again, must remember to feed it This is the little variegated phlox I bought a while back, love the blue in the flowers and the variegated erysimum 'peach'

I used to have that little Phlox - I hope it's still there! It's lovely. I do admire your fritillaries, Tig. I suppose they're lily-beetle prone, are they? My fritillaries are up and doing. I got really confused with my tulips this year. I still think Parker's sent the wrong ones... However, this is 'Abba' - I planted 25 in the village sign box and they're looking bright and cheerful there. I had some left over, so I planted some in pots and gave my daughter the rest. This is the real 'Joanne Woodward' which I like! The pansies are really deep purple, a much nicer colour than in my photo.

Thanks for the nominations all, I must admit to a degree of relief to see them come back up this year as I too have lost them in the past PipLast year I did a bit more research and found some advice to feed them while still in flower, so I used a foliar feed and put some bfb around them. Disappointingly the aureomarginata hasn't flowered but it has a healthy set of leaves More feeding this year! They can be targeted by the red devils Geranium, although they are easier to spot as the leaves are more open. I found one this morning on the yellow one, it was hiding on the stem above the flowers!

You really are suffering a red devil plague, aren't you, Tig! My 'Jingle Bells' Narcissi are in flower at the same time as the Magnolia, which is unusual, but lovely to see.

That is just beautiful Geranium, it is wonderful how things are out together this Spring when normally one or the other would have already finished, perhaps it's our reward for putting up with all the awful weather this Winter.

Lovely pic Geranium - we are going to see some combinations we don't usually get to see because of the weather we've had. Spring has definitely come... This combination happened by chance as the honesty just popped up from no where. The narcissus is called Accent.

How lovely Jasmine the trumpets really stand out. I hope to have blooming Lunaria next year, I've got Aoife's seedlings making good sized plants already and a few self seeders of my own.

Jasmine, do you really call it a weed? I think it's lovely! I've got Lunaria rediviva for the first time, too, since a friend gave me a few of her babies last year. I hope to get seeds off them if anyone would like any?

I'll save them if it does produce seed, Ladygardener. I don't see why it shouldn't - after all, the 'mother' plant in my friend's garden did!
