How lovely Rosefriend, it's amazing what a bit of sunshine can do. Jasmine thanks so much for the offer, but I wouldn't want to ruin you clump, I'm not sure you can split Hellebores either & I'm sure that one of the Hayloft collection that I got last year is that one, I've just got to be patient

As the little Primrose bed was looking so pretty earlier, I just couldn't resist a pot of Anemone's to go with them.

Thanks Rosefriend, the Anemone's don't really like my conditions & rarely come back the next year, but I just couldn't resist that colour combination. I have noticed though that just in front, thanks to taking advice from Tig on planting conditions, there's a clump of Anemone de caene just about to flower

I think you'd best ask Tig, I always put them in the dry bit of the garden, but Tig said they like quite shady, damp conditions & it looks like it worked, perhaps last summer helped though

Damp...mmmh I can do to a certain extent but we have sandy soil so that isn't ideal...reckon I ought to buy summat else !! RF

I hope it changes direction soon, it isn't doing my garden much good. Anemones are happiest in damp, light shade, they were my Mums favourite picked flower. Shade side of the shed Rosefriend? They won't mind the sandy soil as long as you can keep it well watered.

Sun came out briefly while I was weeding and I grabbed the camera to take these, my first spotty double queen hellebore and the February Gold daffs I rescued to fill some gaps in the widened border last spring have opened You couldn't miss the new foliage on heuchera georgia peach either

They won't mind the sandy soil as long as you can keep it well watered. All around the shed is gravel so they would have to be in tubs if there at all Tig - I am wondering if the acer would give enough shade for them. However damp is nothing in the garden but many things need extra water...will see if I can still get some and have a go... This is wonderful..... RF

Thanks for the noms both - good luck with the anemones RF, the corms are quite cheap to buy here so it won't be a lot of money lost if they don't do well, but they could surprise you

Thanks Jas, it is my only spotty one so far, the buds look rosey pink but as you can see just the edges of the petals have a pink hue. There are three that haven't flowered yet - it is soooo exciting waiting for a 'mixed' purchase to bloom for the first time
