The sun made a huge difference in my garden this afternoon - the crocuses opened. These are called 'Blue Pearl' and they're in my gate trough. 'Ruby Giant' in the back garden. 'Prinz Claus' in my blue pot. I showed you a photo of my blue pot before the crocuses flowered - here it is now.

They were worth waiting for Geranium. How lovely to see some sunshine now it's got dark! Your crocuses obviously loved the warmth of the sun.

Having a look down the garden today & was really pleased to find these Snowdrops, I pinched a clump from Mum last year, she would never buy fancy ones, but these are a bit different, with the double green bar, they're very big too. Especially for Tig, I've found George, he was in the last pot to come out. Snowdrops that Jasmine sent me a couple of years ago, these are a bit different too, with the way that the outer petals fan out. Accidentally kept this double lilac primrose for myself when I was doing the Mothers Day pots Just experimenting with the bigger images, a couple of shots that might all be gone next week, if the weather is as bad as they say.

Oops, I wanted to give your snowdrops a nom too! I love the markings. They look like some form of elwesii with those broad leaves.

I'd have kept the lilac Primula as well! Did they call it a 'Primlet', Jilly? That's what our GC seems to call the double ones. Where do they get these names from?

Thanks for the noms everyone . I know Geranium they do pick some wonderful names , the double ones in that pot are indeed Primlets , but I think the lilac one (which is more of a triple) was something like Rosebud . Just spotted something I'm not sure I like about these bigger pics, the one next to the lilac one, definitely needs dead heading

I had to share this pic with you (I didn't take it). My sister lives in Devizes and she discovered these snowdrop woods when she took the dogs for a walk.

I will Ladygardener. My little sister wasn't even interested in gardening until they bought their first house! They had been in Army quarters until about 2 years ago and although quarters tend to have quite nice size gardens they tend to be mostly grass as no one does much except pot gardening.

Yes that's true from what I remember from friends who were army wives Jasmine. When you know you're only going to be there for a short deployment there would'nt be much incentive would there.

I guess you'd not want to be spending much. I remember my Mum and Dad gardening though - they had quite a big veggie plot in one quarter.
