That's rubbish Tig! How did they ever get to be number 1 mail order plant company I am lumping Mr Fothergill's in the first rate rubbish mail order plant company with T&M - my Geum Totally Tangerines have now all come out...nothing more exciting that Geum Mrs Bradshaw. I am never buying from either company again - nor Suttons

I agree with Jilly Tig, T&M seem to have been sending those out now for a couple of years, does'nt matter what you order, that's what you get. I'd complain on their website just to see what they say. Jilly it's such a shame you've not got any of your Midnight Blue to come back. I gave up on them altogether.

Just to complete the non-double trio - 'Laura' opened this morning and guess what, yep, no way a double! If I could find my original order number I would complain - but so far I can't seem to locate it.

Tig - try searching your emails with 'ccare'. When I search my emails for an order number nothing comes up under T&M but it does under 'ccare'. Just had an email from T&M offering 6 Alstroemeria 'Butterfly Hybrid' plants for 6p so I ordered them! Wonder what I'll get

Paul Hansford Director of Horticulture at T & M paid us a visit today - he was going to Wisley so was in the area. He was very charming- we have met him before at presentations for competitions.
I told him we have a special thread for T & M moans here and he was very concerned. Apparently they are having a really big shake up at the moment and he really expects and wants customer service to improve dramatically. I asked him if he had a message to pass on and he said to please keep telling T and M of anything we are not happy about. I mentioned about my blue and white Petunias turning out to be purple and yellow and he said that just isn't good enough- I now have his phone number Just thought I would let you know

I actually think that is very good isabella - he could just have said something banal that "they tried their best" or "oh dear" !! If you ever talk to him again I have a beef with T & M.. T & M have many competitions/quizzes on Facebook etc etc and last year I moaned so much that on the Christmas one people were actually allowed to win something from other countries. Now then, I know that only non-plant things can be sent, such as seeds, books etc and also that P & P will play a part for larger things but if a firm takes orders and makes a profit outside of the UK ( and they must make a profit or they wouldn't do it) then the Rest of the world is also entitled to take part in these competitions and quizzes... I may just post that on Facebook again in time for the Christmas Quiz this year. RF

I just have to tell you about Eva's seeds...she had a packet of T&M Cobea scandens, but the resulting plants didn't look at all like them, they were far too upright, not climbers at all...and she has several in pots. One of them flowered and I looked at it yesterday - it's a BRUGMANSIA!!!!!!! How on earth can that have happened? (Actually I think it's hilarious ...) I wonder if Mr Hansford might like to hear about that boo-boo? What do you think, isabella?

I think I've read the same issue from someone else, they must have mislabelled an entire batch of 'cobea' seeds! I emailed them photos of my 'double' geranium collection which were all single when they eventually flowered and have been promised a replacement collection will be despatched sometime in November. You start to lose faith with them though after the umpteenth complaint! Not only is it their reputation that gets blighted but it must cost them a fortune sending out replacements all the time.

That is really not on Geranium! I hope you are going to let them know! Eva's daughter works for T&M, isabella, so she's intending to show her the packet and the plants at the w/end when she's coming down to stay. I think it's disgraceful getting completely wrong seeds. If it had been me, I'd have fired off a stroppy letter, but Eva's relying on telling her daughter.

Tig that means you'll have to wait until next year to see how they flower, it's just not on.!!! Sending the totally wrong seeds seems crazy to me Geranium. Although I wonder what more they could do except send another pk of seeds but then again it'll be next year before Eva gets flowers.

Interesting though! Brugmansias are toxic - if that had popped up in a school garden/hospital garden after innocently planting another plant it would cause a lot of bother!

Seeing the size of tubers that Cannas normally make Rosefriend, I would have thought you'd have to be pretty patient to grow them from seed, it must take years to get to flowering size undecidex

My replacement double flowering hardy geraniums arrived today, I was going to give them until the end of the month before I got in touch again. The bare roots are much better than the last lot I had in 2012, I just hope this lot are doubles and not singles.
I spotted what look like flower buds on the surviving original magnolia 'sunrise' which I still think looks more like a Susan. After one of the originals turning out to be soulangeana (and then promptly dying on me) it would be nice to get one sunrise out of the three, the single replacement is alive so far!
