That's interesting theinsidegardener I did'nt realise she was his wife. It seems he and Kara are splitting up now too. Wonder who he'll go for next, maybe Darcy?

I'm looking forward to the final this weekend. Shame only 3 of them will get to do all 3 dances as one couple will leave before the end. Hopefully BF won't be shushing everyone away at the end like he did last year, grumpy old man.

My paper said Brucie was coming back next year, too. Why doesn't he retire gracefully?

It's a rumour Geranium, contracts are'nt out until springtime. Someone usually starts this rumour every year to get people talking. He may well come back but we'll not know for sure until then.

It was him wot said it, Ladygardener - let's hope his contract gets lost in the post.

I'm looking forward to tonight's final. Everyone who is left brings something special to the show. I'm hoping the showdances are'nt all just lifts and there is'nt too much wafting but apart from that they can do whatever they like.

I'll be watching in real time tonight so won't be able to ff him. I'll just have to try to ignore him and concentrate on my crochet when he's on.

I've been on the BBC Strictly site and we have free votes for both shows, 5 in the 1st show and another 5 in the 2nd show.

It was hard work watching Brucie with an FF button I did think if they ran out of time on the first episode tonight it was down to him The dances were all good, but for me Abbey is the most improved overall, I liked Sophies Viennese Waltz but wasn't as keen on their showdance. Natalie and Artems showdance was amazing, Susanna and Kevin were weakest I think.

We had to mute him at some points Tig, it was that or give up completely & turn it off & watch it later. Think my favourite is still Abbie, but I couldn't concentrate on her show dance, due to the having to listen to my favourite ever song being slowly murdered, OH said my face was a picture . Probably the first final ever when I really don't mind who wins.

I agree about the song Jilly - I was happy with the result, I thought someones face looked like they'd been slapped with a wet fish though

I was glad Abbey won. She started as a novice, and ended up a real pro. Nice to see the bookies proved wrong, too! I wish I'd thought of the 'mute' button. I must remember that.

I enjoyed the final, they all brought something special to it I felt. After Sophie and Brendan went out in the first round I voted for Abbey and Aljaz and was delighted for them when they won. She was like a big kid who could'nt contain her excitement.

Me neither...I always mute BF Couldn't vote cos OH won't have the computer left on if we're not actually sitting at it and I wasn't going to pay to vote Glad Abbey won, although I wouldn't have minded any of the 4 winning tbh. Natalie was the best dancer, but she started off as very good. Abbey made the most improvement and ended up almost as good as Natalie. Sophie was next best and finally Susanna in my opinion. Abbey's Mum is good looking, Abbey looks like her, and her Gran, but her brother and sister are totally different in looks...funny how that goes. Christmas Special is next...then a 9 month gap!

Sad news indeed. I do wish him a happy retirement, just as long as I don't have to watch him. The next question being, who's going to replace him (please, please let it be Claudia).

As long as it isn't Ann Widdecombe or Russell Grant I don't mind. I used to think Anton could do it, but I'm not sure if it would be wrong to have a pro dancer as presenter, although I could see Wayne Sleep filling Brucies shoes (not literally of course as he's not very tall ).
