Lillies are my favourite Cut Flowers. The only minus is ------if you dont remove (cut) the ends of the stamens off they tend to mark the Polished surface with the Pollen that drops off but still worth doing for the perfume of these lovely flowers.

I do love Lilies but they remind me of funerals I am afraid. Yes Missredhead, a lovely bunch of daffodils and with one bunch free as well, I would have no complaints.

;D I had to google Ikebana Amo (I thought he was married to Tina ) I'm so pleased by your comments, but I have to own up, I just picked them up, broke them off in the garden, brought them in and bunged them in the vase which already had the other flowers in it x Tig

As they are opening, I remove the inside bits and throw them away. So far have not had any problems with my cats ... and lilies are my favourites and I nearly always have them in the house.

I love the idea of having a bed dedicated for cut flowers Auricula, I'm green with envy. I have had sweetpeas, cosmos, thalictrum and a few roses from the garden this year though.

There are always flowers in the house, they usually come from the GH. Lisianthus, anenomes, crysanths, lilies and freesias at the moment supplemented with glads from outside - not all in same vase I should add
