Managed a lovely bunch of sweetpeas yesterday - all mixed up but I do like the 'Purple Pimpernel' which has a marvellous scent.. RF I'm all for strong smelling SP and will make a note of Pimpernel. Those are lovely Rosefriend. EDIT: Post edited by RF

Such great colours Rosefriend. I was at the allotment yesterday and was tempted to pick some Dahlia but decided to leave them for now. Perhaps later in the autumn I'll pick some when I'll not be visiting the allotment so often.

Thanks Ladygardener - I love them , just hate the way they don't come up straight - I planted them very deep but they still have a tendency to fall over, mind you they are all in tubs.. Plus the fact that most of the ones that I bought have turned out to be another variety.. The ones that really are lovely are Plumtart that Monty also grew this year..the dark pink ones..perhaps we could have a Gladioli compy neyt year.. RF

RF This does seem to be happening more and more Rosefriend. By the time the flowers have bloomed the packing is long gone and it's hard to remember where they came from, then there's all the bother of complaining.

The thing is Rosefriend , as with the Dahlia that seem not to be as described, what flowers we do have are all very pretty anyhow. I don't do rigid colour schemes so it does'nt upset any plans I have for the garden.

Very true Ladygardener - I did try this year to do a bit of a colour scheme on the terrace with the Gladiola's and it failed terribly - both OH and I have said - what the hell there are some lovely ones, even if they do clash terribly - hahaha!!
