Grown on my allotment, some were stunted never grow more than 18” high, but still had plenty of flowers, it was my fault I never transplanted enough times and they were pot bound, still have learned my lesson will be better next year

This was originally a full bunch bought by a family member, wasn't keen on the blue to start with but they have been deadheaded, cut down and given fresh water when needed and I've managed to keep them going for 3 weeks My Nans little glass cream jug came in handy for them as I cut them down

Cut the Alstro's off today and put the tub in the GH - seemed a shame to throw the one's still flowering away so, they are now in a vase on the kitchen table..

Aw thanks Jilly, that jug is chipped but I like to use it for flowers. It came home with me from a holiday at one time, years ago.

Wow they're beautiful Ladygardener, I love the way they tone with the jug too. Well worth picking anything thats in flower this time of year, they are lovely LG from me. Love the pansies as well, cute little faces. I've just picked these as I was shutting the girls up, shame I can't share their scent

Those wallflowers lasted until today, must see if I have some more as the kitchen window looks a bit sad without flowers

Chuckles, thanks very much. I did'nt realise the window ledge was so dirty. Half of it does'nt even wash off, I need to repaint it next year. I don't know how I missed this post. Well done to those lovely Wallflower, I love the scent of them. csmile

I have just realised that I have left my wallflowers in a tub in the GH - one was flowering and now I know what the lovely smell was when I closed the GH up. We have sub-zero at the moment so I will leave them in there, covered in fleece, until it warm's up a bit...
