You know that I only like cutting flowers from the garden if they're surplus to requirements out there, but the Roses were flowering really low down & getting hidden by other things & the perennial Violas were moved from the hanging baskets to pots this week so I had a few casualties.

Smashing Jilly a and a you can't beat a lovely small bunch of flowers. I've got a couple of rose bud casualties from the wind in my little jug in the kitchen window

Gorgeous Tig, mine are a bit disappointing this year, even though they were autumn sown they've taken their own sweet time to get going & I've even lost a few..... nothing what so ever to do with letting far too many self sown poppies come up round them, oh no not at all

Thank you for the nominations. Ladygardener I have no idea which type they are because these were the little pots I rescued from Homebase for 50p each ages ago It was still very cold overnight and I didn't bother to try to split them, just plonked the lot in the ground thinking they would probably die, & it went below freezing several times after they went in. They appear to have thrived on neglect

Lovely bunch of SP's Tig you can't beat them. I picked some bits yesterday that were hanging over our fence on the shared path round the back, no one see's them really so I thought I'd benefit. Huge mistake with one of my pickings came down this morning and the pong was horrid even OH mentioned he could smell it as he came down the stairs Anyone guess what it was

Oh does it stink, I never knew Chuckles. It looks so beautiful too does'nt it. I remember picking a huge bunch of a white Astrantia that was overgrown in the borders when Ruth and Tim bought their current home. When we got up the next day, we all made a comment about the awful smell and yes it was the Astrantia although I've seen it used in large displays since then.

I was just in the garden trying to sort things out for a terrible storm that apparently we are getting and I remembered your Dahlias Jilly...they are lovely..

These had to come inside as the weather broke them from their stem. My 1st year growing them and I'm very pleased with them although they are not like the Plum Tart in the pics.
