Yes he did and I could see a slight improvement in his dancing every week Barbara. It would be boring if everyone was a good dancer from the offset and it usually does end up with the best dancers in it from the semi final onwards. What do folk on here think of Peter Andre? Who is your favourite to win or do you have one yet?

I think Jay is a great dancer his jive was out of this world, I don't know what he will dance the old fashioned dances like but the modern ones well....

I like Jay too and I think he's getting a hard time about his expression. Have the judges become so used to seeing people over acting that they can't recognise true emotion when they see it I wonder.

I'm looking forward to Blackpool tonight, I've been watching It Takes Two and everyone is very excited to be there. I do think some of the dances have a lot on the dance floor, props and profession dancers, I just hope they don't all bump into each other, it has happened before. The Christmas Special line up is as follows. Abbey Clancey and Brendan Cole Alison Hammond and Robin Windsor Cassidy Little and Natalie Lowe Harry Judd and Jo Clifton Lisa Snowdon and Pasha Kovalev Tom Chambers and Oti Mabuse

What did people think of last night's show?
The only one I really did'nt like was the waltz that Kellie and Kevin did. Her shouting does my head in I'm afraid although as I've said, little Aoife likes her.

It's Katie I can't take to ( after Helen, obviously ) I find her and Anton dull and boring and hope they go next. Don't know how the judges said they were shocked at Helen being in the dance off, when they marked her second worst . I wish Kellie would stop squealing, but I love Kevin

I enjoyed the show last night. It was good to see them do two dances. I think some of the nerves came out and most of them made some little mistake or other but they all looked like they were enjoying it all. Jay is still my favourite to win.

Jay or Georgia for me - I'd prefer Georgia but really don't mind who wins - it's been very close this year. I know who wins the Xmas Special

I think the judges kept the wrong person in last night, do you think they want Anton to win ?

Yes! or at least get to the final. He is 50 next year, so coming to the end of his Strictly road I think. Perhaps he'll replace Len as a judge??Anita chose the wrong dance for the dance off in my opinion.... and Gleb's choreography did him no favours with Len; although he is very pretty ( Gleb, not Len! ) Still between Georgia and Jay imo. Jay is the bookie's favourite ( wouldn't Aliona be thrilled to be the first pro to win twice?? ) but I genuinely think it'll depend on how they dance next week... and what the pros do for a showdance ( remember the showdance with the dummy?? Colin Jackson and Erin if I remember correctly ) I know I have too much Strictly information in my head... it obviously blocks out my memory of where I've put the tv remote sorry for wittering on... but I love it!! Go Georgia!!

Barbara, I don't honestly think they believe that Anton and Kate could win but I certainly think they wanted him in the final rather than the newbie Gleb. All along I was thinking that he was a bit stuck up but you know, after his small speech last night, I wonder if it's just that his English is'nt that good and having done the whole Dancing With The Stars thing in both America and Australia, he'd definately be more used to showy type dances rather than the more down to earth style that we have.

I agree with that Ladygardener , they seem to favour more modern choreography ( from what I have read ) Kylie still looks good at 47! ( no matter if she's had work done..........those legs!! )

What a fabulous final, they were all brilliant, I think the best one won, but it was a very close call.

I thought Kellie was best on the night.....Georgia was best over the series.....and Jay won! Never underestimate the power of the Middle Aged Woman Voter! Loved the final, a fitting end to a great series...the closest call in years

I really enjoyed the final as well. The top 3 were all worthy of being there but my favourite won.

I loved it, but I hoped Kellie would win as she started off with no experience what so ever, and the other two had some.

I loved it, but I hoped Kellie would win as she started off with no experience what so ever, and the other two had some. No Geranium, she'd been to stage school etc so did have some dance training as had Georgie and Jay.

I suppose any celebs from the acting world would have had dancing classes in their training.

Yep, they all spend a bit of time at Stage School, It's hard to get into the business without ss contacts. Singers are used to performing live in front of a large audience, with lights etc so they also have a bit of a head start. Sports people seem to regularly fare badly. I expect they're used to just concentrating on one activity and using certain muscles. Also, they're used to the discipline of training but not the freedom of dance itself. I know....too much introspection and information....but I'm not obsessed; honestly

Aliona has left strictly. After seeing your post I had a google Barbara. It seems that she said she wants to concentrate on something other than strictly and wants to start a family. Good luck to her, she certainly left on a high after being the only person to win twice.

Speaking of strictly, does anyone know who the Elf was who stood behind and to Claudia's right during the Christmas special? He was in the clips at the beginning of the show when the contestants were being interviewed.

Bit behind on my opinion. Jay was very good esp the jive which was amazing. Georgia, yes very good, but a bit safe. Anita and Gleb should have been in the final though understand why they weren't in a way as their semi dance was a bit odd. I still think Kellie and Kevin should have won the final as imo they were the best on the night especially doing a completely new second dance and Kevin's choreography was quite experimental compared to others. The safe bet won - though good. I thought Anita was amazing overall as only used to seeing her in waterproofs and wellies (and not just because Gleb is easy on they eye - imo!!)

One of my neighbours has gone to a live show - she has to travel by bus and train to Birmingham, but her daughter bought the tickets as a birthday pressy. She was looking forward to it apart from the awful journey!
