I've only just caught up with this thread, and how neat it is to see the progress you have made!
So interesting to see how you go about things over your way. I take it you are not living in the house while it is being renovated/rebuilt!

No we're staying at Ma and Pa's.
The bath kinda just went on it's own along with the gas cooker. Some guy came knocking on the door last week asking if he could have them so my Dad said yes. The guy said, I only knocked in case someone was in, I would have taken them anyway!! Bloody cheek lol

Oh, there's no door on the bathroom so you have to sing loudly ;D
Actually, you have to close the bedroom door opposite the bathroom so that the nice lady across the road doesn't get an eyeful lol

It's looking great April, it really is! I love that fire surround, very classy! Are you able to get stuck in now? Cos you were a bit frustrated at not being able to do things a while ago.

It's taken 2 months to get this far and is kinda more or less able to completely finish but we'll still have stuff to finish after we've moved in such as decorating the rest of the utility room.
We had to wait for the double glazing and central heating really before we could start a lot of the work. We've had a few set backs but it's mainly just putting the kitchen in now and decorating some other bits. Carpets and blinds should be fitted by the end of this week and we've hired a van for next monday to move all our stuff from the lock up to the house.
I'm getting quite excited now!

Keep saying to OH 'when we've finished here, should we sell and start another?'. At which point, he goes white. ;D I've never lived in a finished house in my life!

More of the same We moved all the stuff out of the locker yesterday and we're moving in tomorrow ;D We did hire a van for tomorrow but got everything into Dad's car so that's saved us £38! Rooms look tiny now with all our stuff in it. Apart from the bedroom which still looks huge even with one whole corner jam packed with black bin bags of clothes! Here are some more pics taken just before we went away to visit the outlaws. The finished fireplace The finished lounge, minus Mum The half finished kitchen minus ladders Other side of the half finished kitchen. Windowsill of the utility room painted Edge of the shower cubicle and the bathroom sink The shower. Front of the house OH took all these, thought I'd let him loose with the camera for a change...

Yeah... it LOOKS clean! The dirt and dust is too fine to see lol I'm going to have to hoover the sofas down after moving them in yesterday because the removal men (aka OH and Dad) kept putting them down on their side on the floor, moving them around etc. All I can say is, I'm glad they're not leather! Can't hoover the carpets yet until the pile has settle or something so no doubt Eric and Schmickles will be sat there playing with the bits of fluff

I remember being told not to hoover new carpets....did it anyway cos I couldn't stand the fluff balls everywhere

Moved in properly on the monday, 21st I think it was.
Internet finally connected today, read the whinge thread shortly (how I've missed the whinge thread... lol).
Everything going very well. I've turned into a domestic goddess-cooking wise anyway. Don't see the point in cleaning at the moment because there just ends up with more dust and dirt on there afterwards so I'm letting it settle and the work finish before I blast it. OH has turned into Handy Andy with shelves and rails and hardboard etc all going up nicely.
Dad is now doing the rest of the tiling in the bathroom and we now have the new light fitting in the lounge so the lounge is practically finished apart from no doors and finishing touches. The kitchen just needs tiling now, all cupboards and cooker etc are in and it looks proper smart I tell thee.
Eric is sleeping in our bedroom at the moment because the back bedroom is still full of stuff but that should be emptied a little this weekend.
I have got some more pics to take of the other bits that have been done but I'll do them later in the week because I'm not sure where I put the cable to connect the camera to the PC lol
