The kitchen!! Just needs tiling now although I'm considering keeping that delightful yellow and brown look... goes with the lilac I think. Not.

Oh and ignore the bottles and cans on the side <coff> we recycle and the recycling box has taken a short journey down the garden with the wind so we'll put it out tomorrow lol

And I'm not keeping that bread bin thing. I got it from Argos as a 21 piece set but then decided it wouldn't go with the rest of the kitchen and besides, there were 2 sugars and no coffee in the set of jars lol The manufacturers are sending another out but I'm going to give them to someone methinks.

They were about £300 from Harveys 3 years ago. They're not bad actually, we needed something to sit on and they fit the bill nicely!

We're going to order the tiles for the kitchen this week and try and get some stuff in the garden sorted ie get the tissue out of the rose bush by cutting it down ;D

OH is going to hire an industrial strimmer to try and make some damage on the back lawn and we're going to have a bonfire to get rid of some rubbish. I'm also going to try and get some plants down here from my Mum's as some of them are in flower and I haven't seen them yet lol

They've stopped for now... But we've also blocked some bits off and Eric has been going out so maybe they've finally taken the hint. Then again, I think they're either drunk or high (or both) when they do cut thru and cause damage so a hint might not help. We'll have to wait and see.

After saying that, we saw another guy cut thru our garden yesterday, OH spoke to him and asked him not to do it again because the Police had been involved but it wasn't a guy that we were told to look out for ie he didn't have ginger hair.... lol

Bathroom is so very nearly finished now, new toilet seat, bathroom cabinet assembled by my own fair hands yesterday and the ceiling is now painted. Only thing missing is a toilet roll holder and a towel rail.

Utility room is half painted ie it's had an undercoat. We're ordering tiles for the kitchen later this week I think then. Just having "discussion" <ahem> with OH as he wants to paint the ceiling of the utility room the same colour as the walls so I've told him it will look stupid. I know he'll only regret it... either cos I won't stop whinging at him or because he'll realise that I was right and it does look stupid.

Of course!! £18 a square metre we got them for. Dad got black grout EVERYWHERE.

Wow you have been busy! You are doing a great job, enjoy it and take your time. I know you just want to get finished. We did a similar thing and I thought I would be pleased to finish, but do you know I actually miss the mess and challenge..... how sad is that! It looks fab.

I don't miss any mess or challenge! I just miss having pennies to do it with... I know that once we've finished we've got to start again but doing it "properly". The kitchen is the only room that's completely finished properly. The back bedroom needs stripping properly, the hallways aren't finished either...

But the bottom line is it is yours - to do up as and when finances permit

Spent a lifetime doing that in different places - still not finished Could do with a lottery win, but that is a x million to one shot - so as long as I have a roof over my head (that doesn't leak ) and I can cook, sleep and have a bit of garden to play in - I can manage ;D

Love it April, those tiles look fab with the worktop and those units. My friend had those shape tiles in her shower room but white they looked great too. You have done so well, home sweet home ;D

I think it looks great April..............I remember what it looked like when you first moved in.......that kitchen
