I do like the colour of these old narcissus out in the bed in the back garden. Ornamental Quince at the allotment last week. Prunis "Incisa Paean" in my garden. Pulmonaria "Trivi Fountain" Pulmonaria "Blue Ensign".

Thank you Ladygardener, have a look at this photo I’ve just took this morning ! I know I didn’t plant hyacinth under this phlox as it has been there since we moved in over 20 years ago , it just looks as I had suspected they must spread maybe underground or by seeding ? What do you think? I do know of one I definitely didn’t put under the rhododendron that phlox needs my attention but bins full until tomorrow.

That's interesting maggy, could the original hyacinth have gone to seed and then the seed dispersed and settled and it has taken a few years for theM to flower. They're beautiful anyhow.

Doubt it Ladygardener, I can’t remember putting hyacinth there ! I’m going to look at old photos of that area, I’ve been finding so many popping up I’m either forgetting where I’ve put them or they are seed spreading.

Whatever the reason it's great to see them and they are beautiful maggy. I did an internet search and some writers were saying they don't bloom after a couple of years but it's not true. I could'nt find anything much about spreading although I did read they can produce bulbetts. We have loads of Hyacinth here in Jenny's or up in my garden that are years old and blooming so well.

Some Narcissus in the lockdown bed. It's really filling out and maturing now. Magnolia Stellata out front. Narcissus Thalia, smelling wonderful, they've really increased over the years too. Viburnum "Annie Russell" smells incredible. A welcome visitor on one of the Anemone. Narcissus are not something I would associate with Ladybirds but this one was soaking up the sunshine the other day.

The garden is looking beautiful Ladygardener, your stallata has more blossom on than mine as yet, in fact everything is further on than here. Is that frost I see on the grass? we havent had a ground frost this year ( fingers crossed) we dont.

Thank you maggy, we're loving the garden at the moment. Yes we've had frost and mist quite a few mornings this week. I think being so far south we do get better weather overall here than I would at my house but we also get more frost as well.

The snow doesn't seem to bother plants maggy, it's frost that kills them, I got a duck like your peacock, I'll take a pic. when it warms up enough for me to go out.

Lovely pictures maggy! A while ago I posted a phezzie picture, yesterday Mr and Mrs Phezzie visited! Not flowers but it made me smile - spring is in the air - wonder what baby phezzies look like!

Love them Tig, I've seen purple and pink doubles but never seen that lovely primrose, actually they are Jill through and through. Jasmine, are you sure that isn't a baby pheasant ? the ones I see on our back road along with the male are a mucky brown colour. I love the chickens and cockerels Tig, that is what I told John I wanted when he sent for me that big pheasant I have 4 in total ! it rained them after the first! Ive taken one to the van that I stand on the veranda.

I just assumed it was Mrs Phezzie maggy, I think any baby phezzies would be very tiny at this point in the year but I don't know. I googled 'baby pheasants' and they are very sweet - sort of browny/yellow markings.

I am sad to say that I don't think they have Tig,. I did see a bit of green a few weeks ago but there doesn't seem to be much there now... I am always 2/3 weeks later than you are so I won't lose hope yet!

That's so funny maggy, I hadn't noticed!!! OH puts the spades and forks in Bloob's regular tracks to make her change direction and not wear the grass out! The chair is where I put the washing basket - the whirly line is exactly behind the tree. I can't be bending over anymore!

Most winters these Camellia flowers get frosted but with the mild weather they might all make it this year. Although it doesn’t look it, the flowers are bicoloured and no 2 are the same.
