As usual, I took Jazz for her usual walk this morning, through the woods and onto the field for a good run around. This is her as of now ................. Some mindless imbecile(s) thought it would be a great idea to smash up some empty beer bottles and scatter it in the long grass This resulted in Jazz ripping off a pad on her foot and has had to have an operation to stitch it back on, both inside and outside She was severely distressed and it broke my heart when I took her to the vets and she was yelping with pain If I EVER catch ANYBODY throwing glass around like that, I won't be responsible for my actions. It could have been a child. S x

Oh Susie, Is she ok? Other than the obvious. I am always picking glass up off of the common How long before she is better? Is she insured or did it cost you a fortune? Oscar sends her a big lick Sara

Oh Susie how awful, for both of you - nothing worse that an animal in pain and yelping. So glad she was with you tho and you could help her home - do keep us posted and how she gets on Nothing you can do about it tho - yobs think it so manly to smash their beer glasses in the street Big Kiss to Jazz from Anty Jenny Wrenn to make it all better then

Thanks guys.
It only cost £115, which I didn't think was bad considering the treatment she's had and I've also come home with tablets and other bits and pieces.
She can have walks on the lead until she goes back to the vets on Tues when we'll see how she's progressed.

Oh..... the poor little pup!!! Hope she is recovering from her op Susie (boiled chicken for tea?) I expect she will be a bit shakey for the rest of the day and maybe even not want too much fuss..... either that or she'll not leave you alone. She'll feel much better tomorrow... if a little sore. Hope she's better soon. Can't comment on the +o$$£?$ who left the glass lying around!!!!!

I can't possibly add anything more about the morons who broke the glass Thanks P I've actually been in touch with the local Council to ask if they could supply rubbish bags, litter pickers, gloves etc if I could find volunteers to help keep the woods clear. They are very keen with the idea. I've had permission to put up some posters at the the various entrances to the woods asking for volunteers to help clear the woods and keep them clear in the future. Loads of people walk their doggies here and lots of families come to play on the open fields so, surely, a few of them would give up say, one day a month. Would you? S x

Oh Susie I have only just seen this Poor Jazz! I hope she ( and you) have got over the shock and she is now recovering. Unfortunately we have a similar situation here but easier to see as there isn't any long grass, and the added bonus of careless fishermen leaving their crap behind. My neighbour and I go out quite often being 'Wombles' and picking up after the yobs who spoil it for everyone. What is it with people today? Big hugs to both you and Jazz! LLx

Jazz is very lucky that she has a caring owner who is prepared to do more than just help her to recover. Unfortunately there's too much of this blatent idiocy amongst teenagers (coz I bet that's who did it) and they don't think of the consequences to other people or animals. I hope that you get lots of support otherwise poor Jazz is going to have less places where she can run about. Have you thought about contacting your local paper? They might be able to highlight the problem and get a bit of support too. Whatever you do, well done for going the extra mile, and good luck to you. Px
