Andy I don't have a credit card either - there is a printable order form to complete and send off a cheque (which is what I have done ~ you naughty, naughty man - I have told my OH it is all your fault ) I managed to restrain myself somewhat from ordering things that may be tender (I hope!) Gone for .. Costus speciosa Melica Transsilvanica-pearl grass 'Red Spire' Agave Montana Hesperaloe parviflora and I'm not looking at that site again!! (well not this year ;D) x Tig

Mine is looking a bit sad atm so I've just had a look at the link Beanie posted and I'm going to trim mine down. It has wintered in the unheated GH and seems no worse for wear. How's everyone elses doing

Mine was over-wintered on the top shelf of the mini-growhouse and despite being frozen solid once or twice when I took it out the other week to remove the last of the dead foliage it was still quite firm. I put it in a bigger pot and noticed two new shoots which are now starting to grow away - only problem I have is that it is quite near the surface of the pot - not sure whether to plant it out in the front garden or not x Tig

I moved mine to a warmer border a few weeks ago but no sign of growth yet. Wilko had a red variety for sale I was tempted to buy.

Thanks for that beanie - on the blurb on the packet it says:-
"These perennials are winter hardy. They can stay in the ground over the winter and will flower richer every year."
The problem is that it says that on all the packets and there is also a pic of a tub - meaning I presume that it has/can go in a tub. All a bit confusing really. I can't think that it would take the minus 15 that we had this year though.

Mine is sat outside the GH and gets quite a bit of sun. It has thrown up 2 lovely shoots that are about 6" and 10" high, no signs of flowers though

My red ginger is almost three foot tall now, with lots of shoots, but no sign of flowers .. I had such high hopes for it this year (in case you can't spot it, sat on the bench ) x Tig

Aprroximately six weeks on and my hedychium aurantiacum has grown quite well (OH asked me what kind of bamboo I was growing, it took me a while to realise he was talking about this ;D) It was only bought last year, has been potted on twice, and it is totally pot bound again at the moment! I may bring it indoors if it doesn't flower by the end of September. x Tig

Sadly the ginger lily flowers are fading, I was amazed at the perfume though, it was almost overpowering in the GH.

Patience, patience What's that then ;D Wonder if I should have left it in a smaller pot rather than allowing it to have loads of room to spread its roots???

Think mine may have bit the dust despite being kept frost free over winter, no growth at all showing. I've had a poke about in the pot and the root/rhyzome or what ever it is called still feels solid. Whats happening with everyone elses.
