mine stayed in the border this winter and I expected them to have died but one shoot is about a foot tall. It did have the shelter of a wall maybe this helped

Did anyone get any flowers this year. I didn't only had one stem show, it was healthy enough but thats all I can say about it. Mine is currently in the GH in it's pot. I'll wrap the pot in bubble wrap to keep it frost free and see what happens next year. It'll be its last year if I don't get a flower next year ;D

Isabella posted a photo of hers in flower Chuckles, about a month ago I think it was She said she had grown it in a pot and it never flowered, so she stuck it in the ground, and it has performed better. Mine has loads of tall leaves again but not one flower stalk. I put it in a huuuuuuge pot this year, it had quite a decent sized root on it. I reckon I'm going to plant it out next year and take my chances with it. x Tig

Please has anyone got any experience of growing this plant? I got one at the NGS lunch today in a mad moment, and although I know it's not hardy, I could do with some tips on how to get it started - e.g. does it need some bottom heat? Can I grow it in a pot, and if so, what size? Ta muchly. P.S. I have googled it!

I'm going to have a look at whats happening in my pot in the next few weeks. Its still in the GH but am wondering if it needs a much bigger pot, the one I'm using now is about 18" across and about 12" deep.

It had wonderful leaves - it was beautiful but that is all it did have, leaves - it just got bigger and bigger and nothing happened. We had it in the spare room for a while but we couldn't get passed it. This was when we brought it in for winter and then it was moved upstairs. RF

Did a bit of excavating today whilst there were lots of roots filling the pot they were dead, all hollow and the main corm or what ever its called just broke into a fibrous damp mess. Mines definately a gonna, would have rather had another year of just the leaves than it be dead but hayho.
