I don't have a particularly flash camera alicat, would like one mind. They only look good photos because the subjects were good, yours are good too. I posted some Lantana on the Yellow thread. We soon need to have a Red Thread a White Thread and maybe a Blue Thread. I'm off on hols tomorrow so can't start them, should be packing now ;D ;D. I do have some pics in mind though

WOW! Those photographs are in reality portraits of beauty! Fantastic. I do love the lantana although they do get huge. My poppies rarely live long enough to bloom. ChickaDDD

Hi Jonah Afraid BusyBee has gone on holiday. But it looks like a 'Euphorbia' - I don't know which one. but I'm sure someone will tell us. The next one is 'Nasturtium' - again I don't know which one. The third one I think is a Hibiscus - but I'm not sure. ( I love this one. ) Can anyone else help please. Cheers. Alicat Ps. If it is a 'Euphorbia' it is poisonous. so not great if you have children.

Thanks alicat. I was thinking maybe a Euphorbia after asking [I'll have to google to fing the right one I think], what a stunning photo. I'm really quite envious of the photos on here, maybe I need some photography lessons when the children are all at school. I do have a couple of Euphorbias in the garden, they are not in obvious places for the children to get at, and they are pretty good at not pulling the plants to pieces, so I might just have to add that one. I think I said some time on a similar thread on the beeb site that a lot of the pics would look great on a calendar, I'd buy one!

Don't worry Alicat, I often manage to lose track completely of threads I have been involved in, in fact I haven't looked back on this one for a while. So much to do, so much to see.....! I think it may be fireglow, but that is more of a hunch than investigation. Will try googling when I get a mo. Those Dahlias are superb, an old gent gave my OH some Dahlias and Fuschias as a tip recently, but my little flowers got eaten at before I got the camera out. Oohh, I wish I had a camera with macros! Cheers.

Hi busy bee, Did you have a good holiday.? Sorry I got the name wrong. I must remember to goole in future and not guess. lovely photos isabella, and on the pink thread. Alicat Bit of a hol from hell really, we stay in a very small Algarve village. Have to pump water from a bore hole, it had broken so low on water for 1st wk, no showers etc only dunk in the pool . Mate who lives there been very poorly for a while and 2nd wk went into hospital. OH and I did a load of maintenance on property that he hadn't been able to do and I changed my flight and stayed on for a 3rd wk to do major gdn prune, Oleanders, Lantana, Bouganvealia etc that he now not able to do, also teach his wife how to maintain and clean pool, use gdn water system, pump up water etc because she hadn't a clue. He still in hospital and they can't find whats wrong so I may end up going back to help her for a while. Anyway, some fab pics have been posted while I've been away. Still got the other colours to check out.

Hi all As promised some photo's of my Canna. Hi, Busy Bee sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. (Tottally mad this end) - I'm sorry you didn't have a good holiday. I hope things are better now. Andy the photo above is the canna that I think I found on your webb site. - Phasion (Durban Tropicanna)This is the webb site pictures. The leaves are beautiful, even if the Canna hadn't flowered the leaves are worth it on their own. There is one problem though, that I found out. It does not like to be in full sun as it fades the beautiful leaves. And as Dutchy pointed out the flowers do not like the rain. Or the frost for that matter. Cheers. Alicat.
