Yes it did warm me up too. Again what good thinking to ping these threads. Gosh the feel of summer at the tips of my fingers because of this good old (hm ok young) board. Just the look of Alicats Cana lily with fiery leaves, wow, is that summer or what?

Glad your enjoying them again Dutchy. I was going through some of my photos and thought about them. We've had lots of new members on here since we did them and I though they may have some photo's to add too

I remember Clivia from when I was a child. Funny how now they seem to come back into fashion. I wonder what other old fashioned ones will turn up in our garden centers again.

My Camelia, which I inherited when I moved to this house, is puting on a beautiful, but early display - one frost and all the flowers will be gone It must be quite an 'elderly' bush as it's more like a tree, standing about 8' tall. Thought I'd add a picture - if anyone knows the variety I'd love to know.

Looks very similar to one I have in a pot, bought last year by a friend as a leaving present. Mines called Guilio Nuccio and the ticket on mine looks just like yours. Some sites describe it as a double some as a semi double, Trouble is a lot do look very similar gardening.mweb.co.za/0577.htm

It does look abit similar Chuckles but I think yours might have a slightly more 'ruffled' edge to the petal. I'm going to have to look at a few sites to see if I can find out....

Isabella/pam - You obviously have the golden touch with plants not only in the garden but with house plants as well. That Clivia looks very healthy and happy.

That pretty Chuckles - I think they may be 'related' ;D, but yours looks a fuller bloom with a more ruffled edge. Mine is still flowering like mad (but irritating me when the fall off onto the ground )

Fab GH what a size it is, see what you mean about the flowers that fall off, what a shame. Had to take a second look when I first saw the photo, thought it was grwoing out of the little terracota pot underneath ;D

I've had to have another look at the photo...and for a minute it does look like it's growing out of that pot!! The small terracotta pot has an acer in it ( OH likes them) and it's against the fence to give it abit of protection...might actually get round to planting it in the ground this year - when I find a space !!
