Probably more purple than blue, but I thought they were pretty nonetheless

You should, if you can fit one in, Ladygardener. They're lovely, but the problem with them is that the roots spread out so far. printscreenI have a 'thing' for Viola cornuta, and this (bad) photo is the latest one I came across. It has a rather silly name. 'Icy but Spicy'. how to do a screenshot on a pc

I do too, Ladygardener - I have a few named ones now, and they're still flowering their socks off. I'm hoping for some seedlings, so I might stop dead-heading soon.

I do hope it comes this year again . if so I will take a pic...just you watch, it is totally different this year!! RF

It is Muscari latifolia, the Oxford and Cambridge grape hyacinth because of the two different blues. Just as much a seed weed as the ordinary type, M. ambrosiaca.

I'm so pleased my Olearia 'Master Michael' has survived wind, rain and floods - here he is again! Scilla bifolia. I do love the bright colour.

Yes it is quite tall Rosefriend, about the same height as Amistad. I think about 120-150cm The funny thing is that it was hidden away behind foxgloves and it had'nt been growing upright properly until one day a couple of weeks ago, Jenny was telling me how well hers is doing. I remarked I'd not seen mine at all and it must have died. After pulling up the foxgloves and tidying that bit of the border, I found it and it was a great size. I'd somehow missed it completely.

Considering how easy they are to grow I always think nigella is an exotic looking flower, lovely RF. I just wanted to share the monkshood (aconitum) I grew from seed Jilly sent me ... not sure they turned out to be 'stainless steel' though

I had an aconitum last year that looked like that - it seems to have done a bunk and but the two coloured one that I have is thriving..well, it flowered anyway !! RF
